«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 245 of 245Life is all about making changes and setting yourself goals. For example, you put a goal to lose 10 pounds in 2 months, you set yourself up to accomplish this goal. I set myself up to 5 challenges from the Rachel's challenge program. When I was hearing about Rachel's life and how she died, I had so many feelings going through me at once. I felt sad, confused, grateful, and proud.I think even if Rachel was still alive I think she still could have made a huge difference.
There are many things that motivated me while hearing Rachel's challenge. I realized that being nice to someone really can start a chain reaction, because they'll start doing it to. I also found it motivating by telling the people I love dearly that I do love and care for them. By doing this im letting people know that im here for them. I also started to put every dream thoughts, and wishes into a journal, so maybe one day i canstart a chain reaction and make a difference. I look up to Rachel's challenge and there's not one day that I dont think about Rachel and how she treated everyone equal, and with care. I look up to that. Rachel already changed me and many others and she did start a chain reaction.

The presentation of Rachel's challenge was an inspringing, touching and caring to all my friend and me. Futhermore Three things I learn from the presentation is that Rachel's help many people as possible as she can, big or small she still help them out.Ex when the kids was pick on she ran down the hall and stop the bully from picking on them, which she stood up for the kids that was pick on.Which that inspried me to stop the bully. Inaddition Rachel wasn't a type to not shy, she went to a girl that she never know and start to become a good friend to her and start to become one as well, so tell me no matter what how or who they are always try to get to know them frist. She comment of power to influenec is the strength to provide other .Ther importance of goal setting is to set a goal in life. The removal of prejudice and bullying was to stop judging people and anything and stop picking one little people. Last The importance of creating a climate of kindness is everyone can share things that might be common for them.In colusion this is what i learn from rachel's challenge. I accept the challenge 546161 2010
Rachel's Challenge changed my outlook on the world completely. I thouht the assembly was very sad and I did cry. When Rachel's uncle Mr.Scott talked about the five challenges it made me double think. Rachel's challenge had a big influence on me and tons of other students.
During the presentation I found the fact that she stuck up for someone because he was being bullied and sat with a new girl at lunch because the girl was all alone was motivating.
The most moving part to me was the picture she drew with the eyes crying thirteen tears over a rose right before the shooting and the fact that she like knew that something was going to happen that day.
Rachel ws very sure of herself and always depended on her dreams. I think she motivated many students just by her following her dreams and having faith in what she believed in.
The five challenges that Mr.Scott told us has made me and manyb others want to accept them. I have my own comments toward these challenges and here they are.....
1)The Power Of Influence-If you show respect and kindness you are influencing others who see you doing these kind things to also do the same.
2)The Importance Of Goal Setting-Setting goals for yourself will help you follow dreams and organize your life. It helps you look forward to something you want.
3)The Power Of Journal Writing-Keeping a journal or diary helps you talk about your feelings, your dreams and goals. A diary or journal is like a secret person that you can open up to.
4)The Removal Of Prejudice And Bullying-People who are prejudice and bully others are not needed in the world. I think everyone needs to have respect for each other. No one needs to bully others. Their is no reason to have it.
5)The Importance Of Creating A Climate Of Kindness- If you are kind to someone likewise their be kind to someone else and it will be like a kindness chain. Kindness is key in this world. We need more of it and fast.
And those are Rachel's five Challenges and what I had to say about them. If you read this and it touched you in any way then you should accept Rachel's Challenge I did.

Racheal's Challenge Presentation was a very sad, powerful, and touching presentation. I found alot of things in the presentaion that was touching and motivating. Mr.scott(Racheal's uncle) spoke so highly of her. By what he said about his niece, you could tell in a instance that Racheal was and all around remarkable girl. Racheal seemed like she was always putting people befor herself, always doing good deed's for others. One thing inpeticular that i found moving about the presentation was the fact that Mr. Scott said racheal always said that she would have an impact on this world. What's amazing about that is today evreyone's learning about what racheal expeirenced and she's impacting the world as she said she would always do. Also Racheal said she would always die young. And she did as she said what was going. Racheal's challenge was a very motivtaing story. racheal really did as she said she would. She's impacted many people in this world including me .
I accept Racheal's Challenge

I had many different reactions to Rachel's Chllenge. My overall reaction to Rachel's challenge was that I was astonished. First, the picture the guy called about it.Then, the number of tear drops in the journal. After that, the number of people killed that day.
There were many things about the presentation and her life that i found moving and motivating. One thing was that she tried to be friends with everybody even hte new people in school. The second thing is that she also helped the people that were getting bullied even if she didn't know them. The last and final thing is that she helped everone and anyone who was having trounle in anything.
I also have a comment on the 5 challenges that Mr.Scott put towards me. The first challenge is the power of influence, it showed me that i should be good and have good influences. The second challenge is the importance of goal setting, it showed me that i should set goals for myself. The third challenge is the power of journal writing, it told me that I sholud write something everyday. The fourth challenge is the removal of prejudice and bullying, it made me help the new people so they don't get bullyed and stop prejudice. The last and final challenge is the importnace of creating a climate of kindness, it made me be nicer to everyone I meet. Those are all my comments about Rachel's challenge.

After I heard what had happen, my reaction was that i was shock. I didnt know people would be that mean and cruel. Her peoms and essays interspersed me in many ways. For example, it made me want to make a different in life and also helps others. During the presentation that I found motivating was her drawings. Rachel drawing was like she could tell what's going to happen in the future. Another example, is what she had wrote in her diary. Its was like she knows, one day she going to change the world by being kind. For instance, also her saying. She said that she was going to make a difference and change life. If she was still here, she would know that she did make a difference. Mr. Scott tells us to follow five challenges, and there were, the power of influence, the importantof goal setting, the power of journal writing, the removal of prejudice and bullying, and lastly the important of creating a climate of kindness. Each challenges is very good because each tell about different things that you can do to make thw world better for you and me. For instance, the power of influence, tell me that if you influence someone to do good things and they might past it on to another person and that person would do the same thing. For important od goal setting tell me that if you right down your goal, you would likley to achieve them. Another is the power of journal, it would help you in many ways. For instance, it could help you to express yourself and take out your feelings. Revoal of prejudice and bullying is imporant one of all becasue some school still have bully and its hurting the people who is getting bullying and the people arond them. Lastly, the important of creating a climate of kindnes, tell me that making the world with happiness and peaceful. Like, if you be kind to others and they would be kind to you back. If all the people out in the world would be kind to one and another, we would have a safe and kind people surrounding us. Rachel's Challenge have touch upon us and the student in our school and we accep it, you should too.

Last week when all the freshmens and sophmores were told to report to the gym for a presentation, and i had no idea what to expect. Racheals challenge was a sort of motivation, after putting myself in her position and i thought to myself, what if i was seventeen years old and i got shot right in front of mty school ,would i even be able to take front of my school, would i even be able to take a bullet. Some things i found that were inspiring about Racheals life, number one was the fact that she was kind and she treated everybody with equality and the respect they deserved. She did what teenagers now are days are afraid to do weather its because of peer pressure, or their afraid of what others might think of them. She made people feel like they were a somebody instead of a nobody and some of us dont have the courage to do that because we're too judgemental and we always have something to say about someone. The five challenges that were put towards us were the powere of influence, its a good thing for you to be a big part of a persons life and maybe oneday they'll help you in some way.The importance of gola setting, you haev to set goals for yourself in life, challenge youself in everyway possible and you'll have a better chance of sucess. The power of journal writing.I keep a journal of the events that take part in my everyday life and sometimes about the way i feel in different situations.Only because you'll never know where your stories will end up and what an impact they'll have on other people. The removal of prejudice and bullying, nobody is better just because of the way they look or dress we are all humans and you shouldn't treat someone the way you wouldn't want to be treated. The importance of creating a climate of kindness,if everyone treated each other the same and nobody got judged or discriminated there woul be nobody in the world unhappy or feeling neglected towards their appearance nor their ethnicity.

I'VE BEEN INSPIRED BY THE RACHEL'S CHALLENGE EVER SINCE MR. SCOTT CAME INTO MY SCHOOL AS A GUEST SPEAKER. HIS PRESENTATION ABOUT HIS NEICE WAS TOUCHING. IT SEEMS AS IF RACHEL WAS THE FIRST VICTIM OF THE COLUMBINE SHOOTING. MY OVERALL REACTION TO IT WAS THAT I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK. IT DEVASTATES ME TO FIND OUT HOW A NICE GIRL LIKE HER COULD BE MURDERED SO CRUELY. BUT, IN MY OPINION TOWARDS THE CHALLENGE, I THINK THAT ITS GREAT HOW RACHEL'S FAMILY IS DOING A CHALLENGE TO TRY TO CHANGE MANY PEOPLE'S LIVES IN HONOR OF RACHEL J. SCOTT. I DO BELIEVE THAT THE CHALLENGE WILL TOUCH MANY LIVES ACROSS THE WORLD.
THREE THINGS ABOUT THE PRESENTATION AND HER LIFE THAT I FOUND MOVING AND/OR MOTIVATING WAS [1] WHEN SHE DECIDED TO STOOD UP FOR THAT BOY THAT WAS GETTING BULLIED. PEOPLE WERE BULLYING HIM SO MUCH THAT HE WAS THINKING ABOUT COMMITING SUICIDE. BEACUSE OF WHAT RACHEL DID, HE DECIDED NOT TO. ITS SO AMAZING HOW SHE CAN SAVE HIS LIFE BY JUST DOING ONE SIMPLE LITLLE THING. [2]I ALSO FOUND HER DRAWING OF THE 13 TEAR DROPS COMING OUT OF A SET OF EYES AND FALLING ONTO A ROSE MOTIVATING BECAUSE I THINK THE 13 TEARS DROPS RESEMBLED THE 13 STUDENTS THAT WERE MURDERED. ITS SUCH A COINCIDENCE HOW THERE WERE 13 TEARS DROPS AND 13 STUDENTS THAT WERE MURDERED. THE AMAZING THING IS, IS THAT WHEN THE TEAR DROPS ARE FALLING, THE ROSE SEEMED TO BE GROWING, TO ME I THINK IT RESEMBLES A FORM OF LIFE THATS GROWING FROM A THOSE TEARS DROPS. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, [3] THE DRAWING OF RACHEL'S HAND THAT STATES "THESE ARE THE HANDS OF RACHEL J. SCOTT AND WILL SOON TOUCH THE LIVES OF MANY". I FOUND THAT MOVING BEACUSE, WHEN RACHEL WAS ALIVE, I THINK SHE KNEW THAT SHE'LL CHANGE THE LIVES OF MANY AND BEACUSE OF THAT, THATS PROBABLY WHY SHE DECIDED TO DRAW THAT DRAWING. AND THE THING IS, SHE DID TOUCH MANY LIVES.
MR. SCOTT HAS PUT OUT 5 CHALLENGES TOWARDS US. THEY ARE: THE POWER OF INFLUENCE, THE IMPORTANCE OF GOAL SETTING, THE POWER OF JOURNAL WRITING, THE REMOVAL OF PREJUDICE AND BULLYING, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF CREATING A CLIMATE OF KINDNESS. I THINK THE POWER OF INFLUENCE IS A GREAT CHALLENGE BECAUSE WHEN YOU INFLUENCE SOMEONE, YOU MAY NOT KNOW HOW MUCH OF AN IMPACT IT MAY HAVE ON SOMEONE'S LIFE. THE IMPORTANCE OF GOAL SETTING IS ALSO GREAT BACAUSE I FEEL AS IF EVERYONE SHOULD SET A GOAL IN LIFE BECAUSE IN YOUR LIFETIME, I FEEL AS IF A GOAL WILL HELP CHANGE YOUR LIFE OR THE LIVES OF OTHERS. THE POWER OF JOURNAL WRITING, I THINK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KEEP/WRITE A JOURNAL BEACUSE WHO KNOWS, MAYB WHEN YOUR GONE, YOUR JOURNAL WILL REAVEAL THINGS ABOUT YOUR LIFE THAT OTHERS DIDN'T KNOW. TH REMOVAL OF PREJUDICE AND BULLYING IS AN IMPORTANT CHALLENGE BEACUSE THERE'S MANY KIDS THAT ARE GETTING BULLID EVERYDAY AND MANY OF THEM ARE REALLY HURT BEACUSE OF IT. IF WE WAS TO REMOVE BULLYING, I FELL AS IF EVERYONE WOULD BE ALOT HAPPIER. LAST BUT NOT LAST, THE IMPRTANCE OF CREATING A CLIMATE OF KINDNESS IS IMPORTANT ALSO BECAUSE ITS IMPORTANT TO BE KIND TO OTHERS BECAUSE IT'LL MAKE EVERYONE FEEL ALOT BETTER INSIDE. ALL IN ALL, SINCE RACHEL HAD PLANNED TO TOUCH MANY LIVES, I DEFINETLY KNOW THAT I AM ONE OF THE MANY LIVES THAT SHE HAD TOUCHED.

My main feeling about Rachael's Challenge was amazement at how she wrote so maturely. Her writings were more like a philosopher, more than a teenage girl. They talked about kindness to all as compared to some other ones that might be about a broken nail or a boy who she likes. She firmly believed in kindness to all and lived her beliefs every day. She is a role model and inspiration to everyone, everywhere. Her teachings especially apply to students in high school. She was a very positive influence to everyone in her life.
I found her life moving. She always thought that she was going to be famous someday, and that is a positive state of mind and makes a happy person. I also found her willingness to help strangers or the less fortunate to be motivational. Everything about her is a big pool of positivity and helping everyone out to create a "climate of kindness. “I also found her deeply ingrained morals and ideals to be inspiring. It has made me want to be a better person to myself and everyone else too.
I’m not completely sure about these challenges. I have played violent video games all my life, and a few years back, started listening to somewhat angry music, and I'm still a great guy. I feel that it is very important to practice goal setting. It gives people direction, and helps clarify long-term and short-term goals. I thought that journal writing was a good idea to leave something behind for your family and friends, but I wouldn't do it just for the fact that in my house, nothing is very private. I think that removal of prejudice and bullying is a fantastic idea. It is something that can be stopped willingly; it isn’t human nature or anything. On a similar note, I don't think that a climate of kindness will ever be achieved at any school in my lifetime. It would be just too much work to have people be nice to EVERYONE.
I think it is a tragedy that Rachael Scott is dead. If she were still alive, she could've done so much good for the world. But then again, if she didn't, she wouldn't have been put in the spotlight, and never been recognized. She was able to make friends even after her death. They miss her at the anniversary of her death, and recognize her birthday, even if they never met her. They believed so strongly in her ideals, that they honor her life, and keep the program going. She was a great person.
Rachel’s Challenge to me was wonderful. It told the whole truth about teenagers in high school. People should do everything she left for us. Here is what was moving and/or motivating to me. One thing is how she knew she was going to die young and touch millions of people’s hands like in the back of her dresser. Plus how she helped the new girl by sitting with her at lunch and by helping the bullies get away from the mentally challenged boy, then stopped him from killing himself. Lastly, how Anne Frank and Rachel were so alike in many ways.
There were 5 challenges Rachel left for us. The power of Influence to me is choose a good influence and you’ll do good things but if you choose a bad influence you do bad things. Second, the power of goal setting is important because if you don’t have at least one goal you don’t know what to do with your life. Third, the power of journal writing is important because it can tell a lot about you and can make a difference to someone’s life. The removal of prejudice and bullying is important because that can hurt someone’s feelings and make them want to kill themselves sometimes or worst kill you. Finally, the importance of creating a climate of kindness is id you pass on kindness that person will pass it on. In conclusion, that can start a chain reaction.

Rachel Joy Scott inspired me to accept Rachel's Challenge. She has touched the hearts of many others including me and made a difference. Even though I felt sorrow towards the tragedy that occured, my overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was amazement. She did so much to make sure others wouldn't feel left out. Rachel is surely a role model and I am dedicated to Rachel's Challenge.
I was moved and motivated by her life in the presentation. Her journal writings along with her drawings showed her deep thoughts. The footage that was shown opened my eyes to see the reality in life. Rachel's actions towards others and her personality made me realize that anybody could show kindness.
The first challenge being the 'Power of Influence' could have both negative and positive effects. For example, the music you listen to, the shows you watch, or even the games you play might affect your actions. The 'Importance of Goal Setting' pushes you to accomplish what you set forward. The third challenge being the 'Power of Journal Writing' can help you express your feelings and deep thoughts. When writing them in a journal, you wouldn't have to hold your emotions inside if you're afraid to talk to someone about it. The 'Removal of Prejudice and Bullying' can boost confidence in others to the point where they won't feel a low self-esteem. Lastly, the final challenge being the 'Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness' will allow others to feel equal.
Rachel's Challenge will help make us become an even better person on the inside. If we take time out and let others in, nobody would fear being lonely. It's best to show an act of kindness and making a first impression. I learned to take the first step in making a difference because of Rachel Joy Scott. If I had never seen this presentation, I would've never opened my eyes to a new way to improve who I am.

Rachels Challenge
Rachels Challenge was very motivating & touching. At greater Lowell Technical High School there was a presentation called Rachels Challenge. My overall reaction to the presentation was that i was very touched and moved. I was also thankful to have such good people in my life and it made me appreciate things a lot more. 3 things in the presentation that moved me were the footage about what actually happened, how she drew the picture of the eyes crying and how new was rising and then how that man called her father and said he had a dream about that same picture and last was about how she knew she was dieing at a young age. THe footage touched me because it actually showed what was going on and its crazy to think that at any time your life can end. It also made me feel goosebumps because its true events and its scary. The picture moved me because she drew that and the man that called her father after her death didnt even know her so that moved me. How she knew she was dieing also moved me because the thought of you know when you're going to die is very scary. She wrote about it in her journal and she knew she was going to have an impact on the world (the hands on her dresser).
Mr.Scott put 5 challenges before us and they were: The Power Of Influence, The Importance Of Goal Setting, The Power Of Journal Writing The Removal Of Prejudice & Bullying and The Importance Of Creating A Climate Of Kindness. I have accepted these challenges put before me. My definiton for the power of influence is that you should be a good rolemodel to others and be someone you would want others to look up to. My definition for the importance of goal setting is that you should put goals in front of yourself and put yourself to the challenge. THe power of journal writing is expressing your thoughts, ideas and feelings in a journal or diary. If you have no one to talk to then write and get your feelings out. The removal of prejudice & bullying is that no one should get bullyed or picked on for any reason at all. It isnt nice and every is different but we are all equal! Last, the importance of creating a climate of kindness is to be nice & kind to others. No one wants to be around someone who is grumpy all the time so appreciate the people in your life and just be kind. You never know of tomorrow so be nice to everyone regardless of who they are!
I look up to what Rachell Scott did. She was a very good person and she stood up for what she believed in regardless of the situation. We need more people like that in the world. So i accept her challenge!

Today at Greater Lowell Technical High school, us students and teachers had a half day. Our half day was devoted to the Columbine High School Shooting and also is devoted to a girl name Rachel Scott whom witnesses says was the first person shot and killed on thay day. Our presentation at school was call the "Rachels Chellenge," Rachels uncle was the one who presented it to us. It tell of how Rachels life was like. It says that throught out her life time she kept many diaries and journals. Rachels uncle told us that they found a recent dairy that she has been writing in. In the dairy she wrote of a "chain reaction," something like a little kindness can go a long way. AND SHE IS DEFINATELY RIGHT.
Rachels Scott's presentation really effected me, especially emotionally.she got me thinking more about myself and of others.she taught to always look for the best in others, meaning when you meet someone new, don't judge on what you first see because you should know that first inpression is always the wrong one. Also because of her I was motivated to start my own dairy/journal...and so I did!!!

Rachel’s Challenge
Rachel’s challenge was an emotionally and heartbreaking story. After, Mr. Scott finished his presentation, my overall reaction was speechless. When I thought about it, it made me realize and understand that the smallest action or word can change many people’s beliefs and thoughts. As Mr. Scott, our guest speaker told Rachel’s story something clicked inside my head and made me remember all the fear and terror people went through on that day. First, when her brother was in the library and witnessed his two best friends get shot plus his classmates. At that moment I did not know what to feel, I was emotionless and something about that made me think differently but I don’t know what, yet. Another moment that I remembered is when he uncle said that she kept about six or seven journals, and she also had a role model who was Anne Frank. I was inspired by the fact that she even had a role model because not many people have one. I thought that I should seek out a role model myself, and be influenced to change the world too.

Rachel Joy Scott is a big inspiration to me ever since I saw the presentation from the columbine tragedy. I really just cant believe that something like this could actually happen. After this presentation it made me want to change myself and make a change in the world.I accept Rachel's challenge!
There were a couple parts of the prestentation that touched me the most. The part that motivated me was when we were watching the live videos and footage from the tragedy when it was in action. It was also very intersting wen they acted out the attack at the library with Jeremy Scott. The part that motivated me the most was when I saw all the students screaming and running out of the school and then meeting up with their parents. There were five challenges that I accepted to challenge myslef. One of them were the Power of Influence. When you are being influence, dont be influenced by the wrong thing ,but maybe the good things. When you plan to set your goal, it's should be a goal that is rewarding when you accomplish it.You should also write in your journals so that you can write down how you feel and so that you dont have to express your feeling to others you dont feel comfortable with.In the future, I also plan to try to stop bullying and prujudice everywhere. It would just bring more trouble to the world and make people feel bad. It's also important to create kindness. Kindness is is a very good thing and it would be great to spread the kindness to others also. Therefore, hopefully I will be able to accomplish all of these challenges and make a change in the world.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challengewas a feeling of shock and happiness. All these people came together after a terrible incodent and are trying to save livesby making making schools and other places safer for us all. One thing that I found moving was the courage that Rachel had. When she saw the menatlly challenged kid being bullied she steped in front of the cowards standing up for the kid. Another thing that shocked me was how similar she was to Ann Frank.
They bolth knwe that they were gonig to change the worldand that they were going to die young. When Ann died her father took her diary and turned it into a bookthat changed the world. Rachel also wrote multiple diariesthat were thurned into bestsellers and I think that they will change the world. In the presentation we were given 5 challenges made by Rachel. These challenges were what she thought could change the world.
The first one is influence, that power can change not only the way you act and reat others but, how they treat themselves. The second is setting goals, with goalswe can achive what we want and become succesful or help those in need. The third was journal writing, you can vent out or write down your goals and dreams so you wont forget no matter what people say. Fourth is the remocal of prejudice and bulying, those are the weapons used by cowards and probavly what caused the shooting. The final challenge was the importance of a kind climate, everyone deserves a place to be safe from the cruel world. With a safe climate people can walk with their heads held high insted of fearing everyting around them. Thanks Rachel's Challenge, you can and will make the world a better and safer place.

Rachel's challenge had a big impact on everybody, My overall reaction was that if one person could make that much if a difference why can't others? Things that I found mmotivating are that she treated evryone as equals no matter what they looked like or how they acted. Also she stopped someone from comiting suicide by sticking up for him when no one else would. And when she had died her funeral was the biggest anyone has ever seen.
My comments on the five challenges are: For the power of influence I that you could influence someone if you really tried but you have to be careful about what you influence them about. For the importance of goal setting: This would help you achieve something in life and not wait and see what life gives you. The power of journal writing: This allows you to write about your day and lets you open yourself up to a world of possiblities. The removal of prejudice and bullying: This would allow others not have to worry about what others think of them or have to be put down because of their race or beliefs. And finally the importance of creating a climate of kindness: This would let every one feel good about themselves because they weren't being told that they can't do something.

The ceremony we had at our school for Rachel Scott was very touching and eye-opening. When they said that Rachel Scott went to sit with a girl that was all alone at lunch,I had a flash back to 8th grade because i actaully did that and me and the kid actually turned out to be good friends. I found it sad when Mr.Scott told us that Rachel was one of the first ones to be killed because unlike Rachel, everyone else had a small chance of running and hiding.
I think the Power of Influnce
is very important because if you do something nice and people see you, the next time around they will do something nice too. Setting goals is also important to because it can keep you on track and if you start to slip, you can go back and read your goals that you want to acomplish. Keeping a journal is also important because if anything ever happens to you, everyone can read your journal and see how your life was turning out to be.
One of the biggest problems in schools these days is bullying. That's why removing Prejudicy and Bullying is very important. If we were to get rid of this , everyonew would feel the same and fit in with the crowd. Creating a climateof kindness is also important because if you are nice to people, the people around you will see you and they will be kind also. All in all, since Rachel had planned to touch many lives,I definetly know that i am one of them many lives that Rachel touched.

My overall reaction to Rachael's Challenge was that I felt emotionally moved and motivated. After watching this presentation I realized that not everything in the world is good and some things are dangerous. One of the things that especially moved me was that Rachael would always go out of her way just to make someone she didnt even know feel happy. An example of this is when she saw a new girl from school eating lunch alone she went over and had lunch with her. Another thing was when she helped that mentally retarded kid from being picked on. The presentation made me look at life in a different way.
I believe all of the five challenges from Rachael's Challenge are important in their own way. The Power of Influence is important because other people will want to be just like you, so if you be kind to others, people will follow and be kind also. The Importance of goal setting is also important because setting goals will lead you to success. The power of journal writing is important because if something ever happens to you, they might have a clue what happened and they could save you. The removal of prejudice and bullying is important because you should always treat others the way you want to be treated. And lastly, the importance of creating a climate of kindness will lead to a better world. As you can see, all of these challenges are important in their own way and so is Rachael's Challenge. I am going to try my best to take on all of these things and be faithful to Rachael's Challenge.

Rachel's cahllenge was a very inspiring presentation. My overall reaction to this presentation was amazed, it was cool to see how one girl could touch the lives of so many other people with just a few words of her own. And that she knew she was acctually going to help people, that was pretty cool. and Rachel had a lot of stuff about her that everyone liked. I liked how Rachel wasnt afraid to speak her mind. She never cared about what anybody else thought of her. ANother thing i liked about Rachel was that she did something about everything that was going on. She didnt just think about it, she did something about it. And i liked how she had a positive attitude towards life and always had a positive comment about life. And that she knew she was going to be famous for what she did was weird. But she is and she knew it was going to happen. Rachel was just an overall good person.
Rachel's challenge consists of 5 challenges. The first part of Rachel's challenge is the power of influence. Influence is a huge part of success. if you have nothing to be influenced by, what will keep you motvated to reach your goal in life. The second part of Rachel's challenge is the Importance of Goal Setting. If you dont havbe goals, you probably dont know what you want out of life. And the third part of the challnge is The Power of Journal Writing. A journal is something to relect upon when you have no one to turn to. It helps you to express yourself and build confindence. The fourth challenge is the Removal of predjudice and Bullying. If people stopped bullying and being racist, maybe there would be a lot less violence in the world. And maybe people would stop killing themselves and others. And the fifth, and last challenge of Rachel's challenge is The Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness. People should start showing some sort of kindness and hospitality so everyone will feel comfortable in what they are doing.
And those are my overall reflections on Rachel's Challenge.

Rachels challenge inspires millions of Americans.Their was one person whose death has saved many lives her name was Rachel Scott. Rachel Scott was a one of a kind hero. She lived in every moment with nothing to chance. She stood up for what she belived in. She lived for god and touched our hearts. She is a great example for believers. Rachel Scott left a legacy. I think Rachels challenge is a great way to make the world a better palce and i accept. I want to be like her. May we all someday have as much courage as she did.
Rachel's story makes me want to change. Three things about her life that i found motivating is journal writing, living each moment with nothing to chance, and standing up for what you believe in. Also being kind to others because you never know how much a little kindness can make a difference. I think journal writing is a great way to express yourself and for others to know about you. I'm inspired by Rachel and how she lived her life without chancing anything because we should all live like this and not let anything put us down. We should all stand up for what we believe in and follow our dreams.
In Rachels Challenges there is five challenges. They are: 1) the power of influence; 2) the importance of goal setting; 3) the power of journal writing; 4) the removal of prejudice and bullying; and 5) the importance of creating a climate of kindness. All these challenges are important and we should all follow them. We should look for the best in others to eliminate prejudice. Influences form character choose your carefully. Goal setting is a great way to start a future. Keep a diary or journal to write down your goals. This is a great way to remember who you are. We need to remove prejudice and bullying because this is what causes violence. Let your words and actions encourage, not destroy. We should all tell the people we love how much we love them because we never know when will be our last chance to and i bet that person will always remember this conversation. Live each day as if there was no tomorrow.

Rachels Challenge was very moving and motivating. One thing that motivated me about Rachel's Challenge was how caring she was towards other people. For an example; when she stuck up for a boy that was always being bullied on when no one would help him. Another way she motivated me was how friendly she was. For an example; there was a new girl in school and no one talked to her. So she went over to her and introduced her self and offered her to sit with her and her friends. The last reason why she motivated me was she was always positive. She never had a negative attitude and always found away to make things better. Those are three ways she moved and motivated me.
The five challenges Mr. Scott presented to us, I thought they were very important and everyone she knoe and apply them. The first challenge was, "The Power of Influence", which ment that people look up to you and you probaly don't know what you do might reflect on what they do. The second challenge was "The Impotance of Goal Setting". Which means to set some goals in life for your self, so you could achieve what you want to. The third goal was "The Power of Journal Writing" , this means that you should keep a journal and write about things in your life or something that happened to you. Doing this is could help people to understand you better and get to know how your life was. The fourth challenge was " The Removal of Prejudice and Bullying. You shouldn't pick on anyone because of how they look or act. Alot of times they can't help it and everyone is equal. The last goal is "The Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness". This goal ment you should be kind to everyone and treat them how you want to be treated because you don't know what they been through or what there going thorugh. Those were the five challenges.

THe overall reaction to Rachele's challenge that I had was that it was a very moving and it must have been hard for the families who lost someone that day. What I found moving was when Rachel stood up to those two guys for that kid. When she saw that girl sitting by her self she and her friends went and sat at her table. These two examples have made me won't to become a better person. Mr.Scott was Rachel's uncle who came to our school and presenteed Rachel's Challenge to us , also presented us with five challenges.
The power of influence was the first, and if everyone helps out one another than it will help create a positive influence. The importance of goal setting was the second, and if people didn't set goals were would we be today, I believe that people set goals and follow them they wioll become successful. The third was, the power of journal writing, which I thinkis true through personal experience with using one, and it allows you to get out your thoughts out with out the whole world finding out your secrets or thoughts. The fourth is, the removal of prejudice and bullying, if prejudice or bullying didn't exist it would be a better place but everyone has prejudice we're born with it it's just that some of us chose not to use it. Lastly, the importance of creating a climate of kindness, which Ithing is very important because if kindness is seen then it would be shown by those who have witnessed it.
Rachel's challenge was very moving to me. My overall reaction to this would have to be that it was an extreamly good, but sad presentation. It really got me thinking to be a nicer person and to accept the challenge. The challenges and the presentation were very good and motavating, and i really enjoyed it.
During the presentation, ther were 3 things that i found moving and or motavating about her life. First, i found it really weird how Rachel was 110% against violence, and throughout the whole tradegue. she was the first one to be shot and sadly killed. Next, was how she had drawn a picture of a rose being cried on by a set of eyes, and out og the eyes were 13 raindrops. 13 people were killed that day. I believe it was strange hoe a total stranger had seen this picture in his head, a man who had no possible way of seing it before had described it to Rachel's dad. The picture was in one of her diarys, which were being held for evidence. Finally, it was motavating, because just the face that she knew she'd have an impact on the whole world, without actully having it yet. But all in all, she did it!
While the presentation was being held, Mr.Scott, Rachel's uncle gave us 5 challenges to try out. The first was the power of influence. I think the power of influence is extreamly important because if kids grow up watching very violent, killinmg filled movies, they'll be influenced to be like them, amnd the more they watch. the more nthey'll want to be like these very violent people, and thats exactly what we DON'T want. The second challenge was the importance of goal setting. This one, is a good one. It got me thinking on waht i want to be, and where am i going to start. But at this very moment, when i get older and graduate high school, im not quite sure waht i want to be. Third was the power of journal writing, because i don't really have any time. Maybe later on i'll change my mind. Fourth, is the removal of prejudice and bullying. I know this may sound weird but now that i heard the challenge, i've been nicer to my family, espically my little brother Scott, and it feels good to be nice. The last challenge was the importance of creating a climate of kindness. It's nice to create a climate of kindness, because it's not nice when there are people that get picked on every day. They need some kindness in their lives and some friends to comfort them. Creating this will make people feel more comfortable in new places, where they don't know anybody and are very shy.
This presentation was really informational and really made me want to try out the 5 challenges.

Rachel's Challenge was a very sad presentation. My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was a cpnfused reaction. There were 3 things about her life and the presentation that I found very moving or motivating. Mr. Scott put 5 challenges towards us and wanted us 2 accomplish them. These are some things about Rachel's Challenge.
Rachel's Challenge gave everyone a different reaction. My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was a mixed and confused reaction. I wasn't very moved or anything. I was listening in and out of the presentation. I listened to most of it though. Thus, this was my overall reaction.
The presentation gave me 3 things that I found motivating. Rachel was a kind girl. She helped others and was very friendly. She accepted everyone for who they were. Another thing I found moving was she could kind of predict what might happen. She knew she was going to die at a young age.Another thing I found motivating was she didn't want to be average. Everyone else in the world doesn't want to be average. They want to make something more out of their lives. Unlike them,Rachel actually did. This is what I found was motivating.
I saw Rachels Challenge at GLTHS and I thought that it was a very influencial presentation. It was moving and sad but it did make me want to be a better person. I found many things moving and motivating in this presentation. One thing I found very motivating was that Rachel seemed to always say "I will," instead of saying "I hope I will" or "I'll try to." Another thing was that even though people could be mean and harsh she always seemed to be nice to people and didn't seem to let a bad day change that. One of the last things I found moving was that she said "You might start a chain reaction" and the fact that now many people, children, and schools are hearing her story and I think that is the start of it.
I also have some comments about the challenges that Mr. Scott put towards us. The first one is about the power of influence. I think this is one of the most important challenges because many children especially in their teenage years become influenced by the media, music, peer pressure, and sadly even by their own friends. I think no one should ever try to influence someone to do something that they clearly don't want to do because its that persons choice not someone elses. The second challenge we heard was about the importance of goal setting. This challenge mad eme think more about my goals for the future rather than just goining with the flow and seeing what will come. One reason I started having goals is because most people want to go far in life and without goals theres really nothing to motivate you. Another challenge was the power of journal writing. This challenge inspired me to start writing in a journal. I feel that it gives kids and adults a way to express their feelings freely without being critisized. Also it may pass on motivating things just like Rachel's journals. The fourth challenge that Mr. Scott talked about was the removal of prejudice and bullying. I feel that people should do this as much as possible. Prejudice and bullying is not a good thing because it just makes people feel bad about themselves and may make them grow up to be angry people and they may hold their anger inside until something bad happens. Also, it may help your school and maybe even the world to become a better place. The final thing I'm going to talk about the importance of creating a climate of kindness. I think this is also very important. Also I agree with what Rachel said. A little can go a far way. So if kind to people you never know it just might make thier day alot better

In life, even the worlds kindest of people can be stripped of their lives in the blink of an eye. Though their deaths seem unfair, these people usually leave behind some form of memory or effect, which with a little help, can influence others or start a chain reaction with its views. This directly connects to the death of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine School shooting. Throughout life, this optimistic high school student had high hopes and dreams of making a difference in the world these goals however, did not die along with her. This is because with the help of her family and friends, Rachel’s goals and dreams are being spread throughout the world through a special program. This program deemed Rachel’s challenge, visited my school and has granted me deep insight on her life and has inspired me to become a more compassionate and caring person in my daily life.
Rachel’s challenge was created and is supported by Rachel’s family and friends. The program gave an in depth explanation of Rachel’s life and dreams for the world, as well as on influential depiction of the Columbine tragedy. The overall presentation was well played out and kept me hooked throughout. Not only did the program cover the main point, Rachel’s views towards better living, but it also was backed by incredible fact placement and back story. By the end of the presentation I found myself truly moved by the whole experience and found myself wanting to change my attitude towards life and people. This made my reaction to the program not only positive but heartfelt.
Most of the presentation caused emotions to swell up in the audience. In one way or another, the cast majority of the people viewing the program found it moving and or motivating in some way. I believe that this is because, Rachel’s journey though life was a positive mix of a few of her personality traits and dreams. Rachel’s sense of kindness, and raw compassion towards other people, was a feat in itself. Not only that but, her sheer determination towards making a difference in the world made her an uncanny solider in the war for peace and equality. And finally, Rachel’s never ending struggle with trying to spread kindness not just throughout her town or school, but for the world drew the utmost focus from the audience. Hence creating a moving and emotion driven performance, which left a motivating effect on its viewers.
The presentation was broken down into five main parts. These parts or challenges, all created buy the Scott family, were chosen to influence us to become better people in our daily lives as well as the importance of things such as goal setting and journal writing. The first challenge, ‘the power of influence’ set the ground for the presentation with an important lesson. As humans, we learn through and inflict influence on others almost everyday. If one person is kind to another then the kindness is most likely to spread to others. Though this sounds simple enough, starting kindness reactions through influence, the same rules can be applied to hate and discrimination. What it comes down to is this: what goes around comes around. If you send kindness to others, kindness will come back to you, the same goes for if you send hate, you will get hate back. The power of influence can be used either as something positive or negative. Rachel’s challenge pushes for a positive flow of influence, and that is why it is one of the five challenges that Scott’s out before us.
The second challenge is the ‘importance of goal setting;. This challenge simply wants you to set goals in live, and it is one hundred percent out of your best interest to do so. By setting goals, we gain determination, hence giving us something to one way or another live for. If people do not have goals in life, then they will be left with an overall sense of meaningless, and worthlessness. Drive and desire to accomplish goals is what makes life a challenge, not just endless days of nothingness. Therefore, without goals setting, life wouldn’t be fore then a waste of time.
The third challenge of Rachel’s challenge is ‘the power of journal writing’. Writing in a journal can be a life saver at times, it can provide a source of comfort, as it listens to your every jotted down word with open ‘ears’. Not only that but, by writing about your day’s events it can help to better your memory, and help you to recall more events of your day, whither they are positive or negative so that you can either learn from your mistakes or keep on propelling foreword with good choices. Journal writing is just plain healthy for many people, therefore is makes as a simple and great challenge for more people to try to get in the habit of accomplishing.
The fourth challenge of the program is not only apart of Rachel’s challenge but it is also a well known goal for schools everywhere. This challenge, ‘the removal of prejudice and bullying’, is a common problem amongst schools and workplaces. Prejudice, bullying, discrimination, and racism, all cause tension throughout these parts of society. And if they were to be removed, the people regardless of kind would be better off. To be honest, I don’t see the big deal with treating everyone equally, and believe that is could be solved more easily if people just stepped back and tamed their egos. However, this is not the case, because people of all types have been victims of prejudice and bullying one time or another and it’s a feeling that no one wants to feel. Therefore, by eliminating prejudice and bullying people cane lead happy lives and grow into themselves, instead of something someone else wants them to be.
Though this task is the final step to completing Rachel’s challenge, it is one of the most important tasks of all five. This is because it is by far the hardest of them all. Though the process of elimination negative and hatred in our world can help to create the final challenge, (‘and overall climate of kindness’) it is an ongoing problem that is still in its earliest stages of coming to a solution.
Rachel's challenge was a very inspirational presentation. I found that it made me double think what I do in life.
During the presentation when Mr.Scott was describing the challenges I found it motivating. When the home videos were being played it was sad to see how nice she was and to see what her life was like. The most moving part of the presentation was when he directed the question on us. Mr.Scott asked us who we would be with, dead or alive, and all Could think about was my brother. He is in the army so I barley ever see him, so that was the toughtestfor me.
The five challenges seemed to be very thought out, the poer of influencehad to do alot with the Columbine shooting because the two kids were acting like people from a movie. They were dressed like them and also stated lines from the movie to sound like these actors. This shows that they were motivated by the movie and makes you realise how much of an effect some movies have on others. The secondchallenge, The importance of goal setting, is something i have always done. I think goal settingis important because it challenges you to do things in life. The third challenge is the power of journalism. I never reallywrote in journalsbut now it makes me want to start.
