I'm usually not the type of person to get upset ove these things. I'm not exactly with the 'in' crowd, and I realized that if I get one smile from someone, someone everyone knows, that they actually noticed me. I didn't realized what you have been through. Thank you so much. I accept her challenge!

I take rachel's challenge. The presentation brought tears to my eyes. I think she is a role model to the world , because most people would not do what she did for people in school. I try everyday to help people and make them feel good about themselves, im happy to know that there are other people out there like me. Rachel gave me even more strength to to be the best person i can be. Everyone throughout the world should be kind to other people. Treat people the way you want to be treated, have goals and be proud of who you are and what you are;always keep your head up, and never look down to anyone. Help people and try your hardest. rachel is an inspiration and taught the world that you can do anything!!! <3

I feel bad for her family and friends. I kno what its like to lose a love one and it kills. I think it was amazing that her family decided to help make her dreams a reality!!!! now when i see someone sitting alone at lunch or a new student who needs help i'll help them and not just walk by them not careing!!!!! But the one thing that really got to me was....her diary entry...i mean she wrote as if she knew she was ganna die soon....i just think it was werid and kinda creepy!!! but she is makeing a difference and i want to help and make her dreams a reality!!!!

The presentation got to me. Bullying and putting others down are the worst that can happen to others. Being kind is what we should all do and follow rachel into making our school a better place. Keeping a journal is best to exspress yourself and how you helped others today in any way. Don't be rude to ones who look different. They may look different and act different but they do have a heart just like we do. -- I accept rachel's challenge ! :]

I accepted Rachel's Challenge because it made me see whats really going on in school based on bullying and other things. Hearing all that stuff about her and what she did when she was alive really made me think about how we treat people and how we stereostype others. Her positive attitude towards that stuff made me want to change about how i am, not that im a bad person its just that i would like to treat others how i would like to be treated, i mean they say u give respect and you get respect, so i would really like to consider being sort of a better person. Although there was the whole accepting the challenge thing i really was moved by her story hearing about how she always wrote in her diary and how she stood up for the what we call skow kids and how she made new friends so quick czuse she was such a nice person, i also cried when i was listening to how she died and how her brother almost died and defintely hearing about the 13 tears and the rose comin out the ground i was kind of freaked out only cause some random man called her father and told him he was dreaming about that and if would do him and his family any help at the moment her father said no but in the end he went to get her backpack from the police station and saw that her diary had that picture in there that she drew. In conclusion this presentation was probaly the most moving one i had evr experienced. Im glad rachel has those challenges because i am willing to accept.

Such a moving half day, and one I feel I would never forget. I sat there watching, hearing out her story and all the odd things that took place for her to get her voice out and heard. I knew to myself I would become part of her challenge and I truly accept it for what its worth

A story I wish to share is I was doing what this lovely girl did without know. As we all heard of the story of a girl she become friends with by going over and sitting with, I myself did this to a close end by meeting a girl my VERY first day here in GLTHS and smiling at her, and sure enough become tight friends, and soon the best of best. That very girl was sitting next to me as we heard Rachel's own tale of the same sense and she glanced to me and gave me a warm smile. The kind of smile we all need.

Im usually not the kind of person to get sad over that type of stuff but, it made me think of all the people who died that have been in my family. And, im the type of person that will smile at other people as im walking down the hallway just to see there reaction. I usually can make another persons day better because I talk to them and make them laugh. I felt bad when I was watching that movie about Rachel. And, I thought about her brother and how he felt when he was watching his two best friends die. I wouldnt be living here today if my friends have died right infront of me. If I knew Rachel she probably would be my role model and right now she is.

I was so sad about the story and the presentation yesterday. It almost made me like really want to cry. The speech was unbelievable, I can't believe and wonder how those two people would do something like that. I really admire Rachel, by the way she acts and tell people that everyone is special and good in their own way. Usually I'm not that kind of person that is mean but I still agree with Rachel's idea. I accept Rachel's challenge.

I thought it was sad that had happend. It had changed my life after I had seen it. We should make this a better shcool. After what happend there, just think that it can happen here unless we help make this school a better and safe place. That was not good what happened there, and we should do what it takes to provent this from happening here as well. It provent this is to take the challenges that Mr.Scott had given us, and fallow them.

Anonymous said...

My though about Rachel Challege was that why did the two boys have to do such things instead of loving them. Imagine there were one or two boys who came to our schooland did the same thing like what they did at their school. when I saw the video i almost cried because Mr. Scott showed us the video to all of us and that was so sad to see that Rachel was the first person dying on the grass. But anyways I except Rachel Challenge.

Just recently, I heard a story of a high school shooting at Columbine High school. The uncle of a young girl named Rachel, came into our school and informed us of the tragedy. He told us about this plan called, Rachel’s Challenge. I believe that if our school can accept this challenge, that it would become a better learning environment.

546424 YOG:2010
The lecture given to our school motivated me in a couple of ways. One phrase that motivated me was, “People may never know how far a little kindness can go” –Rachel Scott. It’s true. I’ve noticed that when someone shows kindness towards you through their actions, it make you feel better about yourself, and makes you want to carry the kindness. If we can all try to bring out kindness towards the people around us, we really can start a chain reaction. I was also motivated personally. During the presentation, I realized that life can end so shortly. I am determined now, to live everyday as if it were to be my last day. I want people to remember me as a nice person. If you live each day thinking it would be your last, you’re bound to be a better person. You’re bound, to tell your closest friends and family how much they mean to you. I honestly doubt that you’d think twice before teasing someone.
So, Rachel’s Challenge consists of 5 separate challenges. The power of influence plays a major role in high school and any other area for that. If you set a good influence on others through your attitude and actions, they just may be inspired, and want to be like you. However, if you set a bad influence through attitude and actions, it can spread to others around you. Setting goals is key in life. Having goals is being organized and knowing what you want to achieve. We’ve all heard before, I’m sure, that you can do anything you set your mind to. It’s true. We can. For example, if your goal this year is to do your best in classes, if you set your mind to that you can do it. If, however, you get sidetracked, and your mind is not set on your goal, it’s not going to work out. Same with the goal to spread kindness, if you ignore it, kindness won’t be spread. Journal writing is better for your self esteem than you may think. Rather than telling others your thoughts, a journal cannot judge you. Writing in a journal makes people feel free to let there heart write on paper. This next part, I think, is the most important thing to do. Remove prejudice and bullying. We do not need any of that in this society. Honestly, why do we act this way? Why do some of us think we’re better than others? Sure, maybe some are better at writing than others, or some are better at sports than others. If you take time to think about it, that’s just unique talents. That doesn’t make anyone better than anyone else. We are all people. Why can’t we get along like people should? Prejudice sickens me. To think that some people can sit there and be against others for the way they look, or act. That’s just not right, and deep down we all know it. If we could try to remove bullying and prejudice not only this school, but society in general, this would be a better place. With all that done, we could create a climate of kindness. Eliminate setting others aside, and we can make this a better place, maybe even a better world.

I found Rachel's Challenge to be a good, solid, eye-catching presentation. I was moved by the death of Rachel's brother's two friends. I also thought that Rachel's death in itself had a strong impact on students everywhere. I think that the strength Rachel's family had to live through her tragic death must have been great, which is another thing I found moving about the presentation. Influence can have a positive or negative effect; depending on how it's used. Setting goals is important in order to achieve accomplishments. Journal writing creates a positive outlook and attitude. The removal of prejudice and bullying would make it better for not only the victims of such actions, but the ones who initiated them as well. Creating a climate of kindness is also important because a little bit of kindness can literally go a long way.

My reaction to Rachel's Challenge is that words can't even explain how powerful it was. I thought people got alot out of it. Three things I found moving and motivating were learning about her, her life, and her life goals. I believe what you hear and see, what kind of music you listen to and what kind of movies you watch can influence you greatly. Rachel has influenced me to be a better person. Goal setting is important because it gives you something to strive for and once you accomplish your goal you feel better about yourself. Journal writing helps you with how your feeling so you don't get mad at someone and go to them and hurt them, you can just vent on paper. It also lets you express yourself. Also, when your time here is done people know what some of your last thoughts were and they learn more about you. Removing prejudice and bullying is good because so many people are being hurt by bullies and sometimes those being bullied can hurt themselves. I believe creating a climate of kindness is a good idea because it will help get rid of prejudice and bullying hopefully once and for all.

Before the other day when we were all called down to the gym to hear about Rachel's challenge i never heard about the columbine shooting or Rachel scott or anything liek that. So when i sat there watching the presentaion the only two emotions running throuhg me at the time were shock and awe. I had goosebumps and chills throughout the whole presentation and im not goin to lie i got a little teary eyes here and there too. Rachel scott seemed like an extraordinary person whose purpose for living was to help others and make a difference in this world. Many things that i saw that day moved me and motivated me to want to become a better person. One of the things i saw that moved me that day was when Rachal was at lunch sitting with her friends and saw a girl eating byherself. So she goes up to the girl and asks her if she would like to join her and her friends at their table, even though the girl said no Rachel wouldn't take that as an aswer so she went back to her table got her friends and they all went to go sit at the table with the girl. Another thing that moved me and gave me the chills was how Rachel knew she was going to die young and she knew she was going to make a difference and she was right about that. One of the last things tha i saw durring that presentaiton that defiantly moved me was when this total and complete starnger calls Mr. Scott and tells him he's been having this dream about his daughter crying into the dirt and where her tears fall grow life. Now at first this meant nothing to Mr. Scott until a couple of days after his daughter died and he go to go get her backpack and saw ehr journal. He opened it up to the last page that she wrote on and he saw a drawing of the exact same dream that that stranger had explained to him. Rachel was all about helpin people and she had a theory that with her 5 chaleneges she could make a difference and she was right! Her five challenges were the power of influence which is basically saying that some epople do bad things because they have bad influences in their lives. Another one of her 5 challenges was the importance of goal setting and the importance of looking foward to something and just make dreams for yourself and stuff. The power of journal writing was another challenge which was one that she often did herself. Just write in a journal to let your anger out of let emotions out and stuff like that. the removal or prejudice and bullying was one of the 5 challeneges that i found to be the most important and that just means treat everyone equally and dont bully people just because they have a disbility or just because they're not like you, and her final challenge was creating a climate of kindness which is just basically saying be polite to peoople and treat others the way you would liek to be treated.

Rachel scott was a marvelous person! She lived everyday trying to make something better for somebody. She lived out the lessons you are supposed to learn from program like D.A.R.E. her braver in the face of bullies was astounding. The five challenges could really make a difference if we all worked at them. I think that kidness and influence can go hand in hand, if you are kind then the people around you will be influenced to be kind. I think that having goals is important too, if you don't have any goals you don't know where you want to go and eventualey you will wind up lost. I really think that prejudice is the biggest problem now, because most of us label our selves before anyone else can label us so we are treated as we want to be treated so i think that if we stop labeling ourselfs we can do away with prejudice. The final challege to write in a journal is very well intentioned and it would probobly help with anger and frustration but i don't know if it woyuld help everyone, but it worked well for her. 546415 2010

Rachel's challenge was very moving and motivating to me because she was very kind. Her kindness even saved someone's life by sticking up for him when he was being bullied. Also when a girl who was new to the school sat by herself at lunch she went and sat next to her and became friends with that very same day. She made all new kids who came to the school feel welcomed and right at home. Another thing i thought was amazing was that she knew that one day she would be famous and that she would change many lives. I do accept the 5 challenges. The frist chanllenge "The Power of Influence" to influence other people. The second challenge "The Importance of Goal Setting" in which i have to create goals for myself to follow to suceed in life. Next "The Power of Journal Writing" in which i must write down my feelings and thoughs in a journel. The fourth challenge" The Removal of Predjudice and Bulling" to stop anyone from getting bullied and to treat other people equally. Finally, the fifth challenge " The Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness" in which i need to be kind to other people, it could change a life.

My overall reaction to Rachels challenge was that I was in awh.I think that she is an amazing girl and changed many people's lives, including mine.Larning about what happened taht day was so moving.Learning about the five steps to the challenge inspired me.The ending song,"Hands",by Jewel, that song, everytime I hear it now I wan to take the challenge to the fullest. The first of the five steps,The power of influence.I know that many different people have inspired me to do many different things, and I hope I've inspired someone out there to do something good. The second of the five,The importance of goal setting.I've written down goals and now im following them. The third of the five,The power of journal writing.I've always kept a journal to write down my thoughts and actions of what had happened that day,or the way i feel at that moment, even venting,or taking it out on a journal is better than taking it out on a friend. The fourth of the five,The removal of prejudice and bullying.I know I do not judge people anymore, which eliminates bullying and prejudice. The fifth of the five,The importance of creating a climate of kindness.Noone deserves to be treated anyless than anyone else,in God's eyes we're all the same,"Because in the end, only kindness matters."

MY overall reaction to Rachel's challenge was that what she was doing was important to know about.Learning about her, what she did, and what happpened to her really moved me. The presentation motivates me to help do and tell people about the challenges. It made me more aware that something like that could happen to any school at any time.
Influenceing someone is a big thing because then they might go do it to another and another. Setting goals is a good way to keep your confindence high so you can try harder. Journal writing is a good way to write personal thoughts that could be good to do. There is prejudice and bullying everywhere. Everyone should try to create a climate of kindness and be nice to everyone. It could go a long way.

My overall reaction to rachel's challengewas that i was amazed about the goals she set for herself, And how she was going to accomplish them. then i was sad that she was the first person to be shot and killed.
There were three thing about her life that i found motivating and/or moving. She wanted to make an impression on the world someday. Also she always would stick up for the weak and the handicap peoplre because she felt sorry for them. The third thing I liked was just learning about Rachel's challenge.
Ther were 5 challenges Mr. scott put towards me. Goal setting is important because it helps you become a better person and also helps you become smarter. Of course helps you accomplish what you want to accomplish.
Journal writing can make you express your thoughts better. It may help you with emotional problems, Like why you are mad at someone and how you going to get over it.
If we remove prejiduce and bullying the world would be so much nicer. It would be easier to live in. It would also be a happier place to be in.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that it was very sad. I think that she was an amazing person. What I found moving was that Rachel would go up to a new person at school during lunch and ask if she or he would like to sit with her and her friends. I thought it was moving that her brother would make inspirational movies about her and different positive themes. Also that her uncle would travel around the country and show how Rachel made a differnce in people's live and how others could make a difference. I think the power of influence is a key role in how people feel about themselves. Goal setting is important because it helps you work toward something. Journal writing is a good idea because i think you could look back at things you did and how you felt. Removing prejudice and bullying would make people feel and be happier. Also creating a climate of kindness is very important. i think it effects how people feel and how their day would be. This is what I think about Rachel's Challenge.

My overall raection to Rachels challenge was a sad yet interesting one. Sad because such a kind, caring, and oustanding person such as her passed away so young in a tragic way! And interesting because her story was really meaningful. The top three things about the presentation that I found very moving were, that she knew one day that she would be famous and have an impact on the world. Second, how much similarity she had with Anne Frank and the dreams they both shared. Lastly, how keeping something as simple as a diary could be so important in telling us so much about Rachel today! These five challenges are very meaningful so hears what they mean to me! Influence is a word that would describe the impact of someone encouraging you to do something wonderful and or helpful and can start a chain reaction as what Rachel said. Goal setting is what alot of people do when they want to set their hearts on someting to acheive and/or change something about themselves in order to improve and suceed. journal writing is a great way to record your inner most thoughts, memories, drawings, poems etc. A book that you can call your own, almost like your life stort written down in words. It's a great thing to look back on. Removal of prejudice and bullying is a very strong and important thing because the world needs to stop the hatred among others and bullying is just unecessary. To me for someone else to be cruel to another human being is just wrong and needs to stop. I'm not saying you should like everybody but at least get to know them withot judging first. And creating a climate of kindness is a great thing to do that way no one feels bad and they can atleast know that they are in a safe and happy enviroment. Because you never know whose day you might brighten up and make that much better! All with some kind words and actions. In conclusion I wanna say that Rachels Challenge was a very moving and inspiring story and that I accept the challenge!

Lately, I haven't gotten the chance to write in my Notebook, but since Rachel's Challenge-she ahsn't been out of my thoughts. Right from the begining, I was touched and in tears. Rachel is such an inspiration to me, BEAUTIFUL within the soul and out. She also had me thinking more of my family and the world for a while-changing more of my perspective on life. Besides Oprah and Superman...She is a hero I look up to. And I really do appreciate what her Uncle, her brother, and her family are doing to continue where she started. It's really amazing how her Uncle came all the way to Lowell,Ma and put his heart and soul to get Rachel's message through. Beleive me. It got through! September 12, 2007-I went upstairs to the library and wrote:"I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!"

Watching all the kind things Rachel did for those around her, made me want to hug the person next to me. I absolutley loved how Rachel noticed and joined the new girl sitting by herslef at lunch bringin her own friends along. You see, I'm a new girl myself(and many times before)and I now wish that it was Rachel that sat next to me. And being the tough girl that she is...sticking to bullies for a guy she didn't even know! No one really does that anymore, I admit that I wouldn't stand up just like that. But the one thing thatRachel did that made me feel connected with her was...she,too wrote in a her thoughts ina journal. Something so small and simple, but it's a big deal for me. I myself wonder sometimes if I'm the only one who truly loves to write. For both of us to write our thoughts on the same blank, fragile pages in a Notebook. I feel that I could've known her...we could've shared the same thoughts.

These times, this century...the media is such a huge influence. They know it, I'm sure, but I guess they don't care enough to make a positive outcome. Admit it, we're all influenced influencials. It's everywhere you go! Like fashion, like words, like music. It's one of amny effects on people, negative or positive. I do try to avoid all that, it's such a waste of time-I wanna be me and to be known for me only. So I make goals for myself every year. To test myself, a challenge, just to motivate myslef to reach my best-that potentail my mother sees in me. I personally do a lot of writing myself. I've gone through tough times. So two years ago when I started writing in my Notebook-it helped me vent. I think that's what people who bully and have prrejudice should do. Because all that hatred is worthless. With kindness the world can be such a BEAUTIFUL place. But...without it, we can be nothing but UGLY.

So many people died or were injured. So many emotions, all sad, were shown. No one realizes how emotional Rachel's Challenge can be. What happened on April 20th, 1999 at Columbine High School was unreal to a lot of us. to think that anything like that could even happen was just unbelievable. So many people broke down in tears that day whether it was for joy of their child being alive or the sadness of losing their child. How 2 hgih school boys could cause so much damage in so little time is just unbearable. So, my essay is about my feelings on what happened at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that it was a very emotional day, a moving day. This is not just for the day it happened, but for the people who watched the presentaion that day. Half of my day was spent listening to Rachel's uncle talk about what happened that day and what he and his family were feeling. Rachel was right with everything she said and you may just start a chain reaction. Rachel's uncle at the beginning of the presentation told us all to think of someone we had lost in the past year or two. The main person out of the six I lost was my cousin Jenny. Last November my cousin Jenny was 20 years old and a junior at Bentley. She passed away of an aneurysm in her head. This is somewhat relevant to Rachel's death. My cousin died for no apparent reason is what we think and Rachel also died for no real apparent reason.

Three things about the presentation and Rachel's life that was either moving or motivating seems like an easy question to answer. This is actually a really easy question because there were so many moving and/or motivating parts during the presentation. One thing that was motivating was that you should always be nice to new people and make them feel welcome and to not judge people by how they look or act. You should always treat everyone the same and with equal amount of respect. A motivational and moving moment was when Rachel's uncle talked about how Hitler was Eric and Dylan's (the killers) idol. He was right when he said that violence and violent people should never be your idols. Hitler was a bad idol for Eric and Dylan because Hitler killed so many people. Since Hitler was their idol that is probably why they decided to do what they did on Hitler's birthday. My third and final moving/motivationg was that Rachel died so young but helped so many people. She made an impact on so many people's lives when she was alive. Now, not only when she was alive did she make impacts, through these presentations she is making impacts on people's lives even though she has passed away.

Rachel's uncle mentioned all of Rachel's challenges. Rachel had five chaqllenges. I will explain each one in its own little paragraph. The first challenge was the power of influence. The second challenge was the importance of goal setting. The third challenge was the power of journal writing. The fourth challenge was the removal of prejudice and bullying. Finally, the fifth challenge that Rachel left us with was the importance of creating a climate of kindness. Through all of these Rachel believed that you could start a chain reaction.

With the first challenge being the power of influence you have to think of who makes an influence on you. Rachel was influenced by people in the world like Anne Frank. Anne Frank was probably the main person who influenced Rachel. Eric and Dylan chose to have Hitler as their influence. They chose a person who caused so much pain and death in Europe.

Goal setting is a major point in life. If you set a good goal and go for it no one and nothign should stop you if it is what you really want. Set a goal that can change the world, reach out, and touch the hearts of other people. Set a goal like Rachel did. This will get you so many places.

The power of journal writing is probably one of the biggest challenges that Rachel left us with. You should always keep a journal or diary. Use it to write down what happened during your day or how your day was. You can write down and keep your memories and ideas. Rachel's journals were about her challenges and her days and what I explained.

In my opinion I think that Rachel's biggest challenge was to remove prejudice and bullying. People use bullying or prejudice to make them think that they are better than other people. What they don't realize is that they aren't any better than them because they are bullying them, they are just making themselves look stupid for trying to look better. People bully others to boost up their confidence.

The last challenge of the importance of creating a climate of kindness is huge. If you are kind to everyone, then no one should have a reason to be mean to you. They shouldn't have a reason because you did not do anything to them or say anything to them or say anything to them in a mean way. They could just be mean to you because they are prejudices.

As you can see Rachel's Challenge left a big impact on my life. I hope that if you have heard about it or just by reading this essay you have been moved. I hope that you have taken all the prejudice you have and just throw it away.

From listening to Mr. Scott about Rachel's Challenge it has gave me a big feeling of motivation in my life. The Presentation that Mr. Scott gave, was inspirational. My overall reaction to this challenge was that I was so touched and moved. It made me think about what she did and said and how it actually happened. She made an impact in many people's lives, and this includes mines. This whole sitting and listening to what happened was so touching and inspirational; I would say it was worth the presentation.

There are many things Mr. Scott had mentioned. The things that caught my attention was when Rachel told her friends she was going to die young and she was going to have an impact on the world. This touched me because she has actually made an impact on the world. When Rachel drew the picture, of the eyes crying with the thirteen tears and a rose growing from the ground hit me like "wow, this gave me something to think about”. This made me think how big what she has done was something inspirational. Another thing that motivated me from this presentation was when she wrote down in her journal how kindness and being caring can really help others. This then can make a big difference, and she also did that. I was really; really touch.

Her uncle, Mr. Scott also mentioned the five challenges. I accepted them all and trying my best on each one of the challenges. The first one I accepted was the Power of Influence. I think that by influencing others you can help society. Influencing others you can help with activates and being kind itself. The importance of Goal Setting is also one of the challenges I accepted. I think that by Goal Setting you can organize your life easier and set your achievements with what you want in life. Then there is Power in Journal Writing. I think by writing a journal and/or diary, you can help mainly yourself and others as well. Knowing that you have jot down your thoughts can help. The fourth challenge that I accepted was Remove Prejudice and Bullying. I think with extracting prejudice and bullying, society can be more peaceful and easier to live with, and live without fear. The last challenge that I accepted was having the Importance of creating a Climate of Kindness. With this, I think you can also help others and by doing one good thing you can lead another person to do the same good thing and that will start something great! Having a good, kind reaction can extremely help one person to another. Showing and having, and doing kindness, can be a DISEASE! =D

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge was that I thought what happened at the school is horrible. I don't understand why someone woulr want to kill people in a school. On the other hand I think what Rachels family is doing wigh the presentation is really brave. They know that is is there job to tell kids the effects bullying and violence has on people.
In the presentation, three things that caught my eye was how she wrote in her diary, those were wise words coming from such a young person. Another thing was what seh wrote on her dresser. She knew what she wanted to do, and that she was gonna do it someday no matter what. The last thing is hearing and seeing the bullet holes in her diary and book bag, that is really intense and really puts things into perspective.
When Mr. Scott started talking about the five challenges; the power of influence, the importance of goal setting, the power of journal writing, the removal of predujice and bullying, and the importance of creating a climate of kindness. I realized that thats exactly what people need to do. If not everything , but at a couple or even one. When i walk down the halls I say hi to alot of people and they always say hi and smile back, i know it makes me feel alot better and i seems to make them feel a little better too. So that just proves that a little kindness can do a lot. Which is exactly what Rachel said.

My reaction to Rachel's challenge was, well I'm not sure what it was, it was somethig yet nothing. The presentation didn't really move or motivate me to try some of these challenges. I think it was nice of her family to put this together and spread it across the country. The power of influence is strong especially if you don't realize that the vionlence on television, movies, or video games is not real. The importance of goal setting and the power of journal writing are improtant because they help to keep you on track of what you want to do and to express your ideas freely. I think that the removal of bullying and prejudice and the importance of creating a kind environ ment go hand in hand. By removing bullying and prejudice you create a much kinder climate. This is what i got from Rachel's challenge, I hope you've enjoyed my thoughts.

Rachel's Challenge was something that made me look at life a whole new way. I was very touched by this presentation. One thing that was very moving was her kindness, she was really kind to everyone and everybody. Another thing I found moving and motivating was her journals, her thoughts were very deep. I also found her perspective on life very moving and motivating. The power of influence can change a lot in one person. Influencing someone can make them a better person in a way. I find goal setting very important in life. Setting goals for yourself means you know what you want in life and you got to aim for high to achieve it. Writing in your journal can be also be important in many ways. You can write your deepest thoughts and feelings down without anyone knowing. Letting things out can make you feel a lot better, because getting things of your chest always makes you feel relieve. I think prejudice and bullying is really cruel and everyone should be nice to one another. Showing kindness is very important, it means you care, and kindness always beat everything.

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge is that it was a great learning eperiance of how a little girl could change the lives of people at her school. Also after her death to see she still is teaching kids around the world to have no prejudice. Just a little kindness to share can make a difference.

Three things about the presentation of her life that i found moving and motivating was the hand prints on the dresser that state "These hands bnelong to Rachel Joy Scott and will one day touch the lives of millions of poeple around the world. She allowed herself to overlook the negatives in people to find the kindness within. Also, everybody has a chance to help change the world someway.

The power of influence is what you see and read or hear can cause you to believe its the right thing to do.Know that all the fighting on t.v. is fake its just acting people do not normally to those things.

Set goals so you always have soemthing to work for something to achieve. Keep your goals you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Writing your thoughs down in a journal can at some point help to creat a better world for us to live in.

The removal of prejudice and bullying in lives can save lives. That will only allow people to be equal on a level that they normally aren't.

Climate of kindness will create a place where people are not afraid to be the true them. They can always show their true colors.

After watching the Rachel's Challenge my reaction to it was it changed my life in alot of ways and it made me think differently on some things I never really thought was important. As Rachel's uncle was talking about her life it motivated me in some way. For instance, when there was a new girl at school and she was sitting by herself and Rachel and her friends decided to go sit with her and make her feel welcome. Also, when she went up to those bullys for that kid who had a disability. Furthermore, when she would write in her journal and how she knew those things were going to happen. Equally important, as Mr.Scott was telling us about the different challenges, he made me think about stuff that happened in my life and what happened in Rachel's. For instance, the Power Of Influence it made me think about how my aunt doesn't let my little cousin play violent video games because she doesn't want him to get into that stuff. Furthermore, the Importance Of Goal Setting, it taught me to keep my mind on my goals no matter if other people tell you can't do something. Also, the Power Of Journal Writing I thought about doing that to help express my feelings on things and to help me calm down from the problems i've been going through lately. Equally important, the Removal Of Prejudice and Bullying, reminded me when Mr.Scott had told us when she went up to those guys for that kid who said he was going to kill himself the next week later, not many girls these days would do what she did. Lastly, the Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness reminded me when she went up to that girl who was new and sat with her at lunch and started talking and then later became best friends.

Rachel's challenge really moved me.It showed me that I can make an impact on the world and start a chain reaction. It was a great thing to learn about and I send my best wishes to the families still mourning. There were many moving points in the presentation that really got me thinking. The part where her uncle showed us the pictures and videos of the shooting really scared me and I thought that could easily happen at our school and the fact that she knew she would impact the world and be famous is motivating for me because I can make a difference too.

In the actual challenge, there are five parts. The first part is THE POWER OF INFLUENCE.I can practice this by not watching violent movies like Scarface. The second part was THE IMPORTANCE OF GOAL SETTING.I can show this by setting a goal and having something to look forward to when I'm down. The third part was THE POWER OF JOURNAL WRITING.I can do this by wrting in a journal and letting my emotions out instead of bottling them up inside. The fourth part was THE REMOVAL OF PREJUDICE AND BULLYING.I can do this by not teasing people who not equal to me and being kind to others who might have disabilities. The fifth and final part of the challenge wasTHE IMPORTANCE OF CREATING A CLIMATE OF KINDNESS.I can do this by smiling or saying a friendly hello to someone who might be having a bad day.In conclusion I hope we can become a better school thanks to Rachel's Challenge, and showing someone kindness can be a DISEASE=D

Rachel's Challenge really inspired me in many ways. My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that I felt very bad and sad for Rachel and everybody who expirenced that pain. During the presentation I found that keeping a journal about your life really motivated me. I also found being nice and kind to others very moving. Rachel's strong beliefs showed me how important so many things were to her. The power of influence has such a big effect, such as violent images and violent speaking. This also applies to happy images and happy speaking. Goal setting is important because you don't limit yourself, also it helps you keep you're mind on what you want to achieve. Journal writing helps you vent if you are upset. It also lets you let out your secrets if you don't have any body to speak to. Removing predjudice and bullying makes people feel better about themselves. Creating kindeness makes people happy. Rachel's Challenge is unbelieveably motivating.

Rachel's challenge really reminded me that the way you treat people can really effect their lives in a positive or negative way. It's up to you to make a difference. In my opinion, the five challanges Mr. Scott put towards us are very important. The removal of prejudice and bullying is the most important because without it, kids can be themselves without worrying about being picked on. Goal setting is important because without goals you have nothing to look foward to in the future. Finally, the power of influence can be seen every day. An example of this is the two shooters. They watched violent movies and listned to angry music which lead them to do what they did. I'm not saying that watching a violent movie once in a while is bad, but don't do it all the time. That was what I thought about rachels challenge.

I think Rachel's challenge is a very good idea, and i found it very moving and motivating. Rachel always talked about how she was going to die young so frequently. Rachel also told everybody that she would make a difference in some way to the world, and she knew that she would touch countless hearts in the future. It was also really freaky that she had thirteen tears for the thirteen people that die that day.It was unfortunate that Rachel died before knowing that she saved the boy's life when she stook up for him that morning.

Influence can change alot of people. An example is violent games and music. The importance of goal setting is really important to you because then you have something to look forward to like a car, house, and/or companion. Journal writing is important too because we would have never herd of Anne Frank or Rachel ifthey didnt keep a journal to read. Removing prejuticeness and bullying is a fantastic idea because then people will feel better about themselves, and others around them of everybody treated everybody with respect and care. Thats good because creating a climate of kindness makes everybody feel comfortable around you.

Rachel Scott was an amazing person who only wanted to help people and change the world. Well, she got her wish. Rachel Scott was the first person killed in the Columbine School Shooting. Her life was a very positive and moving subject to hear about. Her family has now put together a presentation that they do nationally to get kids off all the negative influences going around in our society.

My overall reaction to this presentation was very inspired and motivated. I was also very touched and moved to the point where I had tears rolling down my face. The one thing about Rachel that I thought was absolutly wonderful was her drive to make a difference in the world and make everyone feel equal and accepted. Another thing that I thought was great was her passion for keeping journals, just like me. It was so sad and moving to hear about such a young, motivated girl trying to make a difference in the world and then, killed for no reason at all... That's what bothered me the most.

There were 5 challenges that Mr. Scott, Rachel's uncle, left us with which where: The Power of Infulence, The Importance of Goal Setting, The Power of Journal Writing, The Removal of Prejudice and Bullying, and the Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness. To me the most important challenge is the power of influence because this happens all the time. Violence is everywhere... in movies, television, music, etc. and kids are always watching it or listening to it. Therefore, they are influenced to reanact these scenes in real life. It's a scary and very violent world out there. But, a little bit of kindness can go a long way.

Rachel Scott is my inspiration now that I have seen and heard what she was like and what she was trying to do. I have the deepest respect for the Scott family. They are an amazing group of people trying to make a difference in the world and I have faith in them.

rest in peace, Rachel Joy Scott.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that it made me think. How could someone so innocent, have her life taken away, by two insecure boys? No way did she deserve that! It also made me sad. I feel so bad for Rachel, because she was such a nice girl with big dreams that she now, cannot fufill, herself.

During the presentation, there were three main things that I found moving, and that motivated me. One, was when Rachel asked the new girl at school to eat lunch with her and her friends. Even though the new girl turned down her offer, Rachel brought her friends over to the new girl's lunch table and ate with her anyways. Later, they became best friends. That act of kindness right there motivated me to be nice to others (especially new kids!) Another part of the presentation that motivated me was that Rachel kept a journal with dreams and goals written in it, alone with other nice things. After her death her journal writings got published so that the whole world could see her thoughts and ideas. This made me want to start writing in a journal, because maybe one day, my journal entries could make a difference in the world, just like Rachel's did. The last thing about the presentation that moved me was the whole fact that Rachel's uncle would set aside all this time in his life to make up Rachel's Challenge. This makes me want to start something that could have a major effect in the world, too!

During the presentation, Mr. Scott put five challenges towards everyone. The first challenge is The Power of Influence. My thoughts on that is the power of influence has a lot of impact on people. For example, the boys who were responsible for the Columbine Shooting were influenced by many violent things. So they took that to the next level and killed thirteen people. So the power of influence has much impact on people's lives because who knows what or who they could be influenced by! The second challenge is The Importance of Goal Setting wich is key in life. If you don't have any goals set for yourself, then what do you have to live up to? Nothing! So in order to have a bright future, you definitley need to set some goals for yourself. The third challenge is The Power of Journal Writing. This particular challenge inspired me to keep a journal, because maybe one day, my journal entries might impact people's lives, just like Rachel's did. The fourth challenge is The Removal of Prejudice and Bullying. This is very important because there is no need for it at all. Everyone is equal, so I feel as if everyone got along with eachother, the world would be a much better and safer place to live in, where no one would downgrade anyone. The fifth and last challenge is The Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness, which is key! If everyone was kind to one another, there would be no problems between people, and the world would be a more peaceful place!

Rachel's Challenge was realy touching in many ways. One is because her family did that for her. Also how sad it was that 13 people died just because of 2 kids that didn't like school. It was also moving in alot of ways. Like how she knew that she was going to be famous when she was realy young. And how she knew that she was going to make a difference in the world. Also how she changed the lives of millions of people with just her journals. the 5 challenges were very good to do. The first one was the Power of Influence. That is how influences in your life make you do what you act like. And made me think about who realy influenced me. The second was the Importance of Goal Setting. This made me see how good it is to set your goals and stick to them so that one day they will come true. The third was the Power of Journal Writing. Inever kept a journal but after seeing Rachel's Challenge it made me see how good it is to have one. The fourth was the Removal of prejudice and Bullying. Which ment if you can take awaqy bulliny and prejudice then there wont be as much hate and violence in the world. Finally the last one and most important to me is the Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness. which if we were all just a little nice to every one each day then there wont be as much violence at all. That is what I thought about Rachel's Challenge.

Rachel Scott seemed like a greatly inspirational young adult. She was very literate, and artistic, That's one amoung many reasons it makes it that much more of a tragedy. All of those teenagers has so much potenial to be great. I found one of the most effective oarts I remeber from the presentation was when it showed all the photographs of when she was a child to the point of her death. It made me realize that she wasn't just another death in the Columbine shooting which I really didn't understand when it happened anyway. She wasn't just another death, she was a daughter sister and best friend. It showed me that she had a whole life, like me, she was like me and my friends. Teenagers today, including myself think, nothing bad an happen to me! That kind of stuff doesn't happen HERE. It's just not possible. the teenagers and adults alike that were unfortunate enough to be there and experience the shooting probably thought the same. Mr. Scott even said it was a good neighborhood, good school. No one would ever expect that. I could say that the two boys, where a product of their environment, or so the saying goes. But could it really ne applied here? From what Mr.Scott said, no I do not think so. They chose to be like that. To be ruled by horrific images and violence. Are we to sat that's the true reason for why they did that? Again, of course not. Another thing I remeber clearly from the presentation was the faces of the victims and the shooters. Rachel, Craig, and all the people in such a panic. Kids our age feeling that raw terror. Hiding, cowering, being forced to flee for their lives. I could not imagine what must have been racing through the minds of all the people who heard shots being made. Lastly, the thing that really came out was her diary entrees. So now I can ask myself, if this girl Rachel was so like me and the average person, why couldn't my recordings(journals, diaries, poems, stories, etc) impact the views of anyone who reads it. She inspires me, and millions of othersworld wide to look for the best and beauty in everyone. Like she wrote " You just may start a chain reaction".

Rachels challenge was moving, my overall rection was that its devistating and should neer havehappend. The presentation was touching. There are 3 major things that moved me.First was when the man called up Rachels father and said i keep having this vision. its of your daugthers eyes. And is crying and her tears are hiting the ground and somethings growing out of the ground. The man said to her dad does this mean any thing to you. He said no. Then a few weeks later they found another notebook and in the end of it was a picture of eyes crying and when they hit the ground, it became a rose and the tears were boold on the rose petals. The second was when Rachel drew her hands on the dresser and said in the hands "one day these hands will touch millions of people's hearts. The third is when she said to her teacher that she would die young.

Mr. scott6 gave us 5 challenges. the power of influance, is one of the challenges. The challenege is the not let the power of bad influance you. the importance of goal setting, is the second challenge. The challenge is to set goals and know the imporants of them. The thrid challenge is the power of journal of dairy writting. The challenge is about having the power to keep a journal.

About a week ago i had seen a presentation Rachel's Challenge. It was about ht Columbine shooting where 13 students got killed. But the most of the presentation was about a girl named Rachel. My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that i was shocked. I was shocked taht Rachel had once said she would make a difference in alot of things. Some things about the presentation and her life moved me and were very motivating. Ever since Rachel was younger she had kept a diary. She wrote down all her feelings inside the diary. She was vey similar to Anne Frank also. This is because she had kept a diary also too. Because she had kept a diary, this is why she is well known today. Rachel was always setting a good example for alot of people. She was setting a good climate of kindness as well. If someone was sitting by themselves or if someone was getting picked on, she found a way to make them feel equal. She would bring her friends to go sit with that person at lunch or be willing to fight for someone who is getting picked on. She even made a difference to a special needs kid who was going to commit suicide. You dont hear of that happening at all these days. I thought that this was very weird also. Rachel always had a feeling that she was going to die young. But she knew in a way that she was going to make a difference. She even traced her hands and said that one day those were going to touch the lives of people. Personally, i dont keep a diary. But after hearing this i think everyone should keep a diary or a journal of some sort. This is how Rachel became so well known today. everyone should set a good example for other people. Thats what Rachels was trying to influence people. Mr. Scott, her uncle gave everyone 5 challenges. The power of influence, journal writing, removal of prejudice and bullying, creating a climate of kindness, and to have a good goal setting. many things around us influence us. Violence and Bullying on T.V. shows influence people for example.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge is that it's a great cause. The presentation was very well put together and really made me want to listen and learn about it. It impacted my life very much because it taught me that if you don't treat people with the respect they deserve then something bad may happen. Also, that you want to always tell the people that mean the most to you just how much they mean to you because you never know if that's the last time you will see or speak to them. Another way is just by the way she lived her life, you very rarely find people like Rachel. The power of influence I think is a great challenege because if you are a good person then people will want to be like you and they will want to be around you. The importance of goal setting is important because you always want something to be pushing yourself for or something that you want. This is because once you reach that goal you will feel good about yourself. A great way to get all of your thoughts and feelings down is by journal writting. This helps you by getting your feelings out and being able to express them without anyone knowing what's going on unless you tell them. I definitely think that there should be no prejudice or bullying in schools. I think that you should get to know people and decide by their personality not by what they look like. Being kind to people is a good thing because being nice to one person could change a whole day. Therefore the Rachel's Challenge Presentation impacted my life very much.

One thing that moved me was that Rachel was going to be a successful girl, but she died because of other people's actions and reactions. Here are some thoughts I drew from the presentation. The first one was the power of influence. When people try to doing something wrong, don't do it. It may be hard, but don't do it. Another on was the importance of goal setting. If you know what you want to do with your life and focus on it, then there is less a chance of you getting in trouble. next was the power of journal writing. If you keep a journal, people will know what you were about. Another one was the removal of prejudice and bullying. Being prejudice and bullying people who are different is immoral and wrong. If people stop doing that, there will be a little less violence. the last one was the importance of creating a climate of kindness. If you are kind to people, they may spare you later on.

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge was a good one. Im so interested in what happened at colombine. Everytime I hear a story about someone else involved, the story gets a little more interesting. In the 6th grade, I did a book report on "She Said Yes." Another story of a victim of colombine, Cassie Brunell. She was killed after the gunmen asked her if she believed in God-and she said yes.
What happened that day was brutally wrong. The victims didnt deserve it, nither did their families. Just hearing about Rachel, the life she had and what she wanted to do with it, makes me realize how valueable my life and the people in it are.
I thought the entire presentation, not to mention her life, was incredibly moving. The way she showed compassion for everyone she met or knew. Just by looking at her and the way other people talked about her, you can see she had a huge heart. The way she knew she wanted to be the one who made a real difference in the world. She didnt care who you were-she cahllenged you to show others that you care, just to be kind. And the way she wrote everything down. She kept a journal, and essays and pictures, she noted what she felt and thought. But she wasnt writing so she could share everything with people. She wrote for herself. Thats what motivates and moves me about Rachel Scott.
Mr.Scott gave us 5 challenges, The Power of Influence. I have many influences in my life already, but I just added Rachel to it. The Importance of Goal Setting, if your set goals for yourself, your living for a reason. Your trying to make it to whatever it is that you want to achieve, you challenge yourself. The Power of Journal Writing. You can write exactly what you feel in a journal. You cannot be judged by it. Writing can be so powerful, it can save you. The Removal of Predjudice and Bullying, there needs to be an end to it. Hurting others for no reason can possibly hurt yourself in the long run. Pain isnt right for anyone, no one should hurt. The Importance of Creating a Climate of Kindness, bad things dont happen in a place where everyones happy and kind to eachother. It is so important for people to feel kind and receive kindness because people pass it along and thats what the world needs.
Even though her life was taken from her so soon, she fulfilled her goal. She made a difference to me, and im greatful she challenged me, so I know theres more out there.

I think rachel foot steps should be a big part of my life and to everyother kid that watched the movie. one thing that was motivation was that she always wanted good for herself and eneryone around her.what i through was motivation was the picture that she drew in her notebook with the flowers aand the 13 tear drops.
the last thing that i though was motivation was the fact that Rachels family goes out to the world and shares her story. The power of Influence is now inthese days kids ae being influenced by musice on 94.5 or on myspace and i think just because thing's are out there, kidsshould not change themselies fro somthing they are not being yourself is somthing you should be proud of. The important of goals sre important so everyone in life has somthing they can reach and they have somthing to start out there live with. the power of Journal writting is important so when you get older you can look at all the goodand bad things that you went through and laugh about it. The removal of prejudice and bullying is important because ni one should be made fun of for the color of there skin, eyes, or there hair color. I think everyone was brought into the world same and they all should be treated the same way. The importance of dreating a climate of kindness. I think no matter how cool of a person you are you stillcan show kindness to others that might not have friends and make a trend so people look at you and want to be like you because you have many friends whether its quiet kids, teachers pets, cool kids, people should be kind no matter what.

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge is that I think its very good that her family is doing what she allways wanted to do. What i found moving in her life is the way she treated other people.
She allways put people before her self and tried to make everyone feel better and welcome. The presentation is a good thing because they go around to different schools to teach them about what happened and how to help the problem.
Its important to set goals to have something to look forward to everyday. You can write in your journal everyday. It is important to get rid of Prejuice and Bullying. Kindness can go along way. These are all the things that Rachel's Challenge teaches you.544642

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge was surprizing, I never thought that just by a simple smile and hello would make someones day. Also one thing that moved me was when she when to that new girl and sat with her and because of that it made her felt "Welcome".Another thing she did which moved me was when she defended for for that guy named Adam from those bullies. Finally, I foungd out that the diary she kept was filled with meaningfull quotes that are deep.In my opinon the 5 Challenges put towards me is that the power of influence is the power of influence is the power that proves that one person can make a difference if you work together. The importance of goal setting is the power of giving yourself the power of ambition so you can set your life upon. The power of jounral writing is the power whats on your mind so whatever happens to you in the future you can guide your love ones in the future. The Removal of preudice and bulling is the power of m=no more picking on kids no matter how different they are. Finally the importance of creating a climate of kindness is the power that we should develop a world that only kindness will be spoken off. These are some facts about the Rachel's Challenge and the 5 challenges.

I think that everyone of us including myself should try to follow this girl's footsteps. I believe that we as a community should try to help others and care about them even if you dont know them. One of the many things that i found that was touching was when igot to see the diary and the rose the she drew with the 13 drops. Which to my surprise identify the 13 students that were killed including Rachel. Also when she got up and went to the girl that was alone in the lunch table. Last but not least was everything that she wrote and all of her ideas was very motivating. The power of influence i think that it is something that you get or learn from your parents. I believe that following others is a great thing to do. The importance of a goal setting is to have a goal that someone will like to reach one day. The power of Journal a writing.I believe its important important to keep a journal write everything that you feel in that moment or at the place that you are. I also think that is a good way to keep track of things you might forget. The removal of prejudice and bullying. I think that prejudice should stop as well as bullying. I dont its a good way to show who you really are. And by the way it should be old fashioned. Everyone should first look at themselves to be able to critize others because not everyone is perfect. The importance of creating a climate of kindness. I believe that a little kindness can go very far. Helping others even if they are not your friends or relatives showing them that you actually care about them along the way it will make a differnce.

The challenges Mr. Scott had put towards us are very important. One, would be the Power of Influence.Things now a days do not always set a good influence. Things also are a bad influence on younger kids. For instance, the music people listen to, the videos people watch, and also the nad things we hear going on. The second challenge is the importance of goal setting. Setting goals for themselves, because it will help them accomplish things. The third challenge is the Power of Journal writing. For someone keeping a journal is a very good idea. It's good for somebody to let out their feelings and talk to somebody. Having a journal is some what just like that except nobody has to know except yourself. The fourth challenge is the removal of prejudice and bullying. Being prejudice or a bully are things people should not have to deal with. If anyone hears of it going around hopefully they try and do something about it. The last challenge is the importance of creating a climate of kindness. Kindness is very important and everyone should have respect for everybody. Creating a climate of kindness takes everyone to make it happen. I think our school has a climate of kindness, because the people who care and work for the school help make that happen.

My over all reaction to rachels challenge was startling becasue i dident really expect all of that to happen the way that it did. I think it is horrible the way that it happend and the way that it hurt many people that day.
A few things that i found moving and or motivating about the presention and her life were these. I found that she did alot to help others that struggle and tried to make a diffrence in the world. Another thing was that she wanted to reach out to people her thoughts like anne frank. And the last thing i found moving was when Mr. scott explained about rachels brother going though 3 years of trama becasue of what happend that day.
The 5 challenges that Mr. scott and my comment to them are this. The power of influence-you should influcene outehrs with the same point of view you have becasue it just might help them. The importance of goal setting- is to make a goal for yourself to like by every day. The powerof journal writting- write down your thoughts and things that you want to clear out of your head. The removal of prejudice and bulling- when removing this it makes school easier to go though for every one.
The importance of creating a climate of kindness- is to make the days peaceful for everyone and to treat others the way you want to be treated. These are my thougts of rachels challenge and how she influenced many people to try and make peace.

My overall reaction to Rachels challenge was very sad for me. I was shocked and, it was very difficult for me not to cry.
Three things about her life and the presentation that were moving to me was the part where it said to make new friends with people that dont have any friends. Another one was helping the disabled and realising that were all human no matter what we look like. The last thing I found moving was Rachels quote that says, "You never know how far a little kindness can go". Which is true. By being kind you can change our life and the life of others.
Mr. Scott gave us five challenges. One was the power of influence. It affects me by making the right choices in my life and, learning how to choose the right crowd to hang around with. Another one was the importance of goal setting. Which is very important to me in figuring out what it is you like to do and just go for it. The next one was the power of journal writing. Which is a good way of expressing your feelings when no ones around. An important one that Mr. Scott states is the removal of prejudice and bullying. No one likes to be bullied. It hurts many peoples feelings. There are many dangers involving bullying and being prejudice. It leads to the point where people get sick of it and no longer want to live their lives. We should all learn to love one another. But, most importantly respect each other. Last but not least, Mr. Scott talked to us about the importance of creating a climate of kindness. People will feel more comfortable when they sence alot of kindness. Not only will you make a difference in your life but, in the lives of others.

My over all reaction to Rachel's challenge was sad. That was sad to see how that all turned out, how 2 kids could plan to kill 500 kids for no reason.

3 things about the presentation that got to me were. One thing would have to be that she was one girl that never had problems with anyone at her school. another thing is that she always told people that she was going to die young, its like she new it was going to happen. One other thing that got me was that she was only a jr. in high school, she had a long life ahead of her, she and everyone else didnt deserve to go like that.

These are the 5 challenges Mr. Scott put towards me. The power of influence to me is, no one should be followers, live your own life your way. Goal setting, my goals are to do good in school, graduate and take care of my my family. Journal writing, helps me get mi thoughts down and clears my mind. Removing prejudice and bullying, helps others make school safer, and better. Creating a climate of kindness, lessens prejudice and Bullying

The 5 challenges Mr.scott put towards me mere very important.everyday im influencedby my fellow employees on how to acheive work ethics. Its imporatant to write down your goals because it a guideline to life and it helps you keep your head straight in the direction you want to go. Its also importanty to have a journal because you can let some steam out and write about how your feeling. also i think that being prejudice is wrong because you shouldn't discriminate other people because of how they look or what they are. Also it is definetly important to create a climate of kindness because people should be able to feel safe at all times.

After the Columbine High School shooting there was a challenge that came up, and that challenge is Rachel's Challenge. My overall reaction to her challengewas that I felt sorry for what had happen. Rachel's Challenge consists of 5 challenges:Power of Influence, Impotance of Goal setting, Power of Journal writing, Removal of Prejudice and Bullying, and Creating Kindness. There were 3 things that I found motivating in the presentation was how kind she was, the irony of the eyes and flower, and how she was compared to Anne Frank.

The uncle of Rachel, Mr. Scott, put the 5 challenges in front of me. For example, how someone influences somebody, and you always want to have a postive influence. Having your goals written down helps you acheive your goals. Writing your thoughts down so it don't build up inside helps you clear your mind. The removal of prejudice and bullying by showing that everbody's equal and no one is better than the another. The importance of kindness helps people out more than you think, but its the little acts of KINDNESS that does alot.

My overall reaction to Rachel's challenge was that it was very touching. What i found moving about the presentation was that Rachel was just this one girl who was so strong in helping others. Everything about Rachel's life moved me and motivate me to become a nicer person. Also what moved me was all the little things Rachel di that ended up being so big to others, which helped them out. Mr. Scott was telling us about 5 challenges, The power of influence, The importance of goal setting, The power of journal writing, The removal of prejudice and bullying, and the importance of creating a climate of kindness. The power of influence for me would be being kind to others. The importance of goal setting, hopefully that would mean being more successful. The power of journal writing, is good to write down how you feel so you can keep a clear head. The removal of prejudice and bullying, really theres no need for that. The improtance of creating a climate of kindness, just like Rachel said a little kindness can go pretty far, so what i do can effect everybody around me so with a little kindness i can effect the people around me for the better.

My overall reaction towards rachel's challenge was I thought it was very outspoken and I think people would look at this and really follow on what she believed in. The three things about the presentation that I found moving and motivating was the chain reaction writing your goals in your journal and making everyone in your surroundings equal. Mr. Scott gave us 5 challenges the power of influence gives you the strength to move forward .The impotance of goal setting makes you want to work harder everyday. The power of journal writing is a big part of expressing your feelings and setting your goals and reaching them. The removal of prejudice and bullying gives new people a better enviroment. The importance of creating a climate of kindness shows that everyone is equal and no one is different no matter what color or race. class of 2008 545999

my overall reaction towards racheles challenge was sad,but determined.determind to make a difference the ways that rachels did in her life.she inspired me and made me feel bad for the bad things i have done to others.during the presentation i was moved by three parts.i was moved by rachels modivation to make a difference.also i was moved by the fact that she lost her life so young, and in such a violent way.finally i was moved and hurt when i heared about the racial slurs said to rachels brothers friend befor he was shoot and killed.

Hi this is my comment

I think that rachels chalenge was a very sad meeting even though i might not have been there for it. I still understand the affects that it had on the people who loved her and the people that did not even know her. Im sure it still had a affect on them. I pray everyday that this will never happen again because this is a sad story of how a couple young kids decide that they can go into a school and take away other kids life. Who gave them that right know one did.... The only reason someone should die i belive is by the hand of god not no one else. No one has that right to take away someone elses life. I plan to accept this challenge and live it to its fullest. Make it one of my goals in life, make this world a better place...

My overall reaction to Rachels Challenge is that it changed my life. Iam not going to lie and say i have never made fun of anyone. I have walked down the halls of my school and i have picked on people and talked about people. I have gone to so many places and i have done the same. After seeing what she had done for others it changed me. I knew i could make a difference and i can change someones life too. Its a work in process but i do try my best. The things about the presentation and her life that i found moving and motivating was when the guy dreamed about the eyes and the rose and he didn't know that was the last thing Rachel had drawn in her journal. The other was the African American boy who was shot in the head beacause he was black and beacause he looked different from everone else. The sad part about it is that the last thing he heard were the racial comments towards him.
When Mr. Scoot came to my school he gave us five life changing challenges. The first challenge was THE POWER OF INFLUENCE. I think its to give someone hope by the way you walk and talk. Its by being a good example to others older and younger. The Second challenge was THE IMPORTANCE OF GOAL SETTING. Writing down our goal gets us ready for life and its like planning our futures. The other was THE POWER OF JOURNAL WRITING. I thing writing our thought and fellings down makes us feel good and its expressing our lifes and ideas for people to read and understand. The forth challenge was THE REMOVAL OF PREJUDICE AND BULLYING. Its just wrong. People who do this do it just to make themselves feel good. The last challenge was THE IMPORTANCE OF CREATING A CLIMATE OF KINDNESS. When you do good things for others or just for yourself. You feel good and i think it starts by you surrounding yourself with positive things and people.

My overall reaction to Rachels's is that I felt a strong feeling of great saddness. This was the first time I heard of this incident. I was deeply touched by this story. I've always consider'd myself a kind person. I will admit that i can be cruel at times and I was motivated by Rachel's Challenge to become a better person. Rachel's Story & Life shows that humans can rise against the direction our world is heading. So I've decided that the saying "im only human" is in-proper, it is an excuse, to deny what you really are, whether your a monster who destroys others lifes, or an angel who brightens someones day.

The power of influence is a weapon for all sides. Todays society leans towwards the side that isn't good. This is because its influenced to do so. Did you know that in a class room it takes one kid to influence the class. I've seen it myself, I've been picked on and I've picked on others. Today I fight to better than influence, I should make the "me" I am.

The importance of a goal setting is that goals give us dreams, they test us to see who we are. Without goals your lost on who you are, what you represent, and where you'll end up.

The power of journal writing lets you vent how you feel. Try writing down how you feel, it allows your mind to feel free of a burden.

The removal of prejudice and bullying is important because its amazing how easily one can be hurt by another person. People hurting others for their own pleasure have problems of their own.

The importance of creating a climate of kindness will make our days much more relaxing and fun. Being kind isnt that hard.

I myself have been influenced to do things i dont want to do, I have been influenced to be a better person and i recommend we all try to take in the good influence and not the bad. I've set my goals, i want to graduate high school with honor roll, i want to go on to be a top video game designer and i want to do this all while being a good person. I dont have a journal but i write songs to express how i feel, music is my stronghold, i go there to be safe. I'm never prejudice towards anyone and i dont bully people, i find these things to be an act of ignorance. One day i hope the world we live in is peaceful, but i know im a soldier and not a leader like Rachel.

- R.I.P. to the people killed that day and in other horrorific events

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was sad and moving and it inspired me to take on the five challenges Mr. Scott put towars me. One of the things about the presentation and her life that I found moving and motivating was when the man dreamt what was on the last page of her diary. That part of the presentation really drew me in because it's almost supernatural. Another part of the presentation that was influential was when Rachel said she was going to change the world and in the end, she really is changing the world.

After watching Mr. Scott's presentation, I took on the five challenges of the power of influence, the importance of goal setting, the power of journal writing, the removal of prejudice
and bullying, and the importance of creating a climate of kindness to help Rachel, and everyone else who accepted Rachel's Challenge, change the world. The power of influence is very important in making the world a better place. The actions of others can be influenced by what others do. For example, if someone witnesses another littering, they might also be tempted to throw their garbage on the ground. If someone sees another picking up litter, it would show them not to litter and maybe even get them involved in helping clean. So the actions of one can be influenced by the actions of others around them. Goal setting is also important because it would give someone something to work and look forward to. Journal writing can be a way to express feelings such as anger to prevent them from putting the anger on peers or others around them. The removal of prejudice and bullying is probrably the most important of the five. I believe the root of all hate come from people's differences. Bullies often prey on someone who is different from themselves. These challenges all help in creating a climate of kindness. By creating a climate of kindness people would look forward to school because they'll know they wouldn't have to worry about prejudice or bullying. Mr. Scotts's presentation really motivated me to take on these five challenges to help make the world a better place for everyone.

The Rachel's presentation was one of the best presentations I ever seen. I liked it very much. I thought it was very inspirational for not only me but for everyone watching. Throughout the presentation there were many things I found moving and motivating. Like the part when her brother talked about how he was in the library when the first shot was fired. He and his friends thought it was a firecracker, but it wasn’t, it was the shot that just killed his sister. Another one was when Rachel’s friends talked about the things they remember about her. Everyone loved Rachel; she was so nice to everyone. Hearing the things they were saying, made me wonder what people think about me as a person. And I thought, I wanted to be remembered like that. Finally, the thing that really hit me hard was when Mr. Scott told everyone to close there eyes and think about the people in our lives. This hit me hard because as soon as I closed my eyes I thought of my son. So of course I started to cry and realize how grateful I am that he is with me and safe.

After the presentation, Mr. Scott put 5 challenges on me. First, the power of influence; now I put myself in situations where I know I am doing the right thing. Second, the importance of goal setting; I write down my goals so I have something to look forward to in life. Third, the power of journal writing; writing your thoughts down on paper helps you get things off you mind without telling it to someone you might not trust. Fourth, the removal of prejudice and bulling; this makes school a safer place. It also makes it more fun and enjoyable so people will want to come. Finally, Mr. Scott talked of the importance of creating a climate of kindness; this makes the world a safer and better place to live. No one should be afraid to live.

Rachel's Challenge

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge it was sad and good at the same time because it show people how to be different be unique and kind. There were tree things about the presentation and her life that i found moving and motivating. One was Rachel's kindness she show to people. Keeping a journal because if you ever pass away people can know the type of person you where and maybe you can make a difference. Finally her uniqueness makes you be yourself and not care what people think about you. It makes want to be a leader. They where five challenges that Mr. Scott presented to me.
The first one was the power of influence. I try to see the good in everyone. Also, I try to influence people to do the right thing. The second challenge was the importance of goal setting. I think about my goals everyday and it motivates me to keep doing what im doing in life. The third challenge is the power of journal writting. This cahllenge I do agreed on because you get to impress your feelings and your emotion to youself the main oerson you trust in life. Also, you can let everything go instad of holding everything in. The fourth challenge is the removal of prejudice and bullying. Try to keep everyone peaceful because everyone is different and without differences it wouldn't be a world of uniquness. The finally challenge or the the fifth one is the importance of creating a climate of kindness. To keep negative out and in thinking positive keeping the peace around you. Never judge because you never know what they might be going through or you dont know there struggle in life. Rachel's challenge I do accept because it change the way i react to life and gives me reasons to me grateful of life and live life like theres no tommrow.

I am getting better at it and now l give them a compliments and it is getting better. There were three things about the presentation that l found motivating to myself and others. One thing taht was when her brotehr was so close of death when they shot his two best friends and because one of tehm was black. Another one was when his dad made the ctross for her and for her funeral. A third one was when Rachel drew the hands and wrote a message in the hands. There were five chaleenges that Mr.Scott put towrads me was The Power Of Influence was i want to choose to put myself in teh right path. The importance of Goal Setting to is that if you want go someway in life then we should beable to write it down. The power of Journal Writting is to write down your ideas and thoughtsand how you feel. The Removal of Prejudice and Bullying. My overall reaction to rachels challenge was a big shock to me. I was really upset. its really sad that some peoplein this world today just can live with their self. they dont have nothing beter to do but murder inocent people.
The three things from the presentation and rachels life was she was just another girl going about her business. She had a heart of gold, she would do nice things for other people like she saw a little girl sitting by herself and invited her to sit with her and her friends. She also protected someone she didnt know from being bullied. It really is a shock how people like racjel have horrible things happen to them.
The power of influence rachels challenge had on me was life is to short to just sit around and do nothing. Ihave to get into to school, i have to get more hours at work, and enjoy every moment with my son. The importance of goal setting is to make my life better so i know where im going in my life. the power of journal writing is to help yourself letyour feelings out and not keep them bottled up inside, so you dont have something bothering you all the time. The removal of Prejudice and bullying is to start standing up for people getting bullied. The hatred and judging is horrible. It only makes themselves feel better. The importartance of creating a climate of kindness is what we really need. Then maybe all this violence will stop. People wont be getting hurt or murdered. Hopefully this rachels challenge will come to an end with no more hatred or bullying.

My reation to Rachel's Challenge was that I felt really touched and I really wanted to accept her challenge. One thing about the presentation and her life that moved me was the fact that Rachel had so many ideas to change the wotl at a young age. Also, I found it amzing that a guy from far away had a vision about a drawing that was in Rachel's notebook and what that drawing represented. Last, it really made me think avout how I treat people and about making sure the people I love knew that. The power of influence I think can be a strong one if used properly like Rachel but if you look at the other side of the story, those two boys, they were influenced by violence in the media. All positve influences should be taken in and used to the best of ability. Setting goals is important in sucess. If you want to sucseed in life you have to have goals so you know what to reach for. Journal writing is powerful because it helps you figure out the type of person you are and what legacy you are leaving. The removal of predjudice and bullying is necessary because that was one of the reasons therse boys decided to do this. People deserve to be treated equally not pushed around because they are small or smart or anything like that. Last but not least the climate of kindness. If everyone took a little time to be kind to one an other instead of judging everyone the world would be nicer and safer and more comfortable. Love is the key.

My overall reaction to rachel's challenge was that it made me really sad to know that someone like rachel died. It broke my heart to hear about what happend to her. Someone like rachel could have done so much good in the world.
The Three things about the presentation that moved me were how she was a leaderand not a follwer. she was her own person and she didn't follow the crowd. she inspires me to be my own person and set goals for myself. I loved how nice she was and if she saw someone new,she would make them feel like they already were best friends. She also stuck up for people who getting bullied and picked on. Rachel is my new role model, and when something happens or i see someone who's new, i think what would rachel do?
Mr. Scott influenced us with 5 challenges. He wants people to be influential and influence people like rachel did. The second challenge was setting goals for yourself. If you set goals and work on acheiving them, then you can make your life better. I've set goals for myself like getting honor roll and perfect attendance. The 3rd is the power of joural writing. I personally could never keep a journal, i've tried on many occasions but failed. I think writing in a journal or diary is good. You can get your anger out, or just write about day, writing all your ideas down can help you too. The 4th is to remove bullying and prejudice. Rachel was kind to everyone, she had black, white, maybe hispanic or asian friends, she stood up for people who have birth defects and disorders. She was friends with everyone know matter who they were. The last one is creating a climate of kindness. You should always be nice to everyone. When your in the hallway smile or say hi, they could be having a bad day and your smile or hello could be the one thing to brighten up their day.

My overall reaction to Rachel's challenge was to make a change in people's lives and get them to make smart decisions in stead of stupid ones. There were 3 things about the presenation that I found to be motivating to others and to myself. The first motivating thing about the presentation was that just being nice to somone can change their whole prespective on life. Next, Rachel Scott had said by dying young that she was going to change the world. Finally, the most motivating thing would have been that people she had known had taken the time to come here and show us a film and hope to get our attention in making a difference in poeples lives, because it could mean everything to one person and maybe more. Mr. Scott gave us 5 challenges. The Power of Infulence which was to motivate others to do nice gestures and it could possibly make others want to do the same. Impotance of Goal Setting which meant to always have a goal in life because you will having a better chance of achieving it. Power of Journal Writting dealt with writing down your thoughts and beliefs in hope to one day achieve them. Removal of Prejudice which was to not bully people beacuse it may drive them down the road to severe depression or even the attempt of suicide. Finally, Importance of Kindness which meant by being nice to people that others will see and it could soon start a "Chain Reaction."

my overall reaction to rachel's challenge.i was in shock, i had almost forgt about whats had happend that day, it had happend so long ago. 3 things about the presentation i found moving and mortivating. one , was that rachel wa the first person to get shot which was probly the saddest thing for most people. another was when the man who had called rachels dad and told him about the deams he had about rachel and her crying with a flower. another was when her father had writen a saying to rachel and her cross.

My overall reaction to Rachels Callenge was that i thought it was crazy because the thought of someone doing that is awful. Three thing that i found moving were the eyes and flower she srew in her diary, when the random guy had a dream about it. Another thing was that she knew she was going to have an impact on the world but she didn't know how. Another thing was always saying that she was going to die young. I have a few comments on the 5 challenges that Mr. Scott put toward us. The power of influence is good because it is alwasy nice to have a good influence on someone. The importance of goal setting is good because if you write your goals down there will always be something to try to achieve. The power of journal writing has a way of letting you get out your feelings without acting them out. It's important to remove bullying and prejudice because those are the things that can affect peoples lives seriously. Creating a climate of kindness is important because if you are kind to people you can improve the way you act toward other people and improve the way other people act toward you.

two goal setting,it helps to have somthing to work towards.
three the journal,I dont see how a journal helps any one
four prejedice and bullying removel, yes that is what wee have to do but its not as easy as it seems.

My overall reaction to rachels challenge was i was jsut shocked. I knew about the columbine tragedy but i never really knew the details of it and how much pain it caused for so many different people. The presentation brought tears to my eyes thinking of how many young innocent peoples lives were affected or taken away over a couple upset boys.
During the presentation there were nany things that i found moving or motivating. I was amazed at how her classmates talked about her. How she was such a wonderful and caring person, it deffinatly inspired me to be a better person i can only hope that if i die as young as she did that my classmates would say such nice things about me . Next, my deepest sympothy goes out to rachels brother who heard the gunshots that inevitably killed his sister. he was an inspiration to me simply how he kept his life together when so much pain and suffering was brought to it. Finally, the fact that all she wanted to do was change the world really amazed me as well. I wish she could see what a huge impact she really did have on the world.
Mr Scott put five challenges towards us, the first one being the power of influence. I think influence is more fo things and people that affect your everyday life. Movies and music do influence things but i don't believe that they have as much influence as your friends or family or the choices you make. Next was the importance of goal setting. I think it's important to set goals so you always have something to work for in your life. It gives you something to look forward to achieveing. Next, was the power of journal writeing. journal writing i knwo from experience is good, it gets your feelings out so that you don't keep them inside. the next challenge was the removal of prejudice and bullying. I believe prejudice should deffinatly be removed. i've witnessed it first hand and i knwo what a horrible thing it really is. Its wrong to judge or bully someone for what they look like. i don't think anyone should be made to feel bad about themselves. Finally the importance of creating a climate of kindness. this is probably the most important, there should always be kindness. If everyone was nice to each other there would be no reason for anyone to be mad or dislike anyone else. everyone would be a lot happier.

I feel like i have to accept the challenge. That presentation made the most sence out of every anti violence presentation i have ever seen in my life. other assemblies just say "talk about your feelings" "dont fight" that kind of thing. This presentation actually had meaning to it. You cant help but feel bad for all the victims and anyone who had to witness the events of that day. Its really sad to think that people could be influenced to kill other human beings so easily as the killers were.

My overall reaction to Rahcel's challenge was how hurtful it was to know how badly people treated othrs, and how the two Columbine shooters picked out spcific people who were innocent to kill. during the presentation there was 2 things that i found motivating. One was the fact that she knew she ws going to die at a young age, and impact the worl. Nest is how just being kind and caring to others can really set an axample for other to realize how respectful it really is to treat others the way you would like to be treated. Finally how Rachel's family can actually travel to all different schools and talk about such a tragic event that effected there lives with the death of there daughter, niece, sibling, or cousin.
Mr.Scott mentioned in the presentation 5 challenges. The power of Influence which was to influence people to have kindness toward others, to treat eveyone eith respect and maybe doing this wouldmake a difference. The improtance of Goal Setting is to have a goal or wish set in mind to live for and maybe later down the road it can be accomplished with your choices. The Power of Jounal Writing is to tell your emotions and to let out your trueful meaning come out of yourself in you very own words.the Removal of Prejudice and Bullying is to not bully anyone according to their race, religion, color, or personality. also you should treat others the way you would wand to be treated.Bullying people can make them insecureabout themselves, very depressed or even send them down the road to suicide. The Importance of Creating a climate of kindness is to set and example and maybe others will follow in your foot steps to prolong that kindness. And just mayb even start a "Chain Reaction".

My overall reaction to Rachel’s challenge was that I became really surprised watching the whole presentation. In the presentation I found out three things about her life that I found moving and/or motivating. One of the things I found motivating was how the F.B.I. was surrounding the whole school, moving as team safely. Another thing I found out about the presentation that touched me was two kids with guns shooting innocent students, the first student shot was Rachel, Scotts sister which was what he heard at the library; the first shot. Mr. Scott gave us 5 challenges which are the power of influence, the importance of goal setting, the power of journal writing, the removal of prejudice and bullying. The power of influence was one of the challenges that Mr. Scott gave us which means to make your own decisions. The importance of goal setting is to accomplish them. The power of journal writing is to release stress out. The removal of prejudice and bullying so people went start violence all around and cause a chain reaction. The importance of creating a climate of kindness is so everyone could get alone and not cause a problem. These were five challenges that Mr. Scott put towards us.

I attended A Presentation called Rachel’s Challenges and the presentation made me emotional. There were so many things that I took from the presentation the Mr. Scott gave. One thing that I found suck out in my find was how much one girl can name such an impact ever after she pasted away. Another thing that I was moved by in the presentation was the discovery of the outline of her hands on the back of her dresser. This to me made me thing that she was very much aware of the life that lied ahead of here. Lastly thing that I will never forget about the presentation was when Mr. Scott spoke about The man who gave Rachael’s father a call after he had a dream about Rachel’s eyes. Then when her dad went to go pick up her diary and flipped to the last page and seen the description that the man had gave of his dream. I felt very moved by story, because I believe very much in dreams, and by hearing about this story just made me believe in them even more.

After listening to the presentation and Rachael five challenges I feel each challenges is different in its own way, yet all equally important. The first challenge is the power of influence. I feel that this challenge sets the tone for the other challenges, because if you perform any of the other four challenges and you then make sure that someone else dose the same for another person all the challenges will me meet by everyone. The next challenge is the importance of goal setting. This challenge will help you accomplish any thing you would like which will make you successful. The next challenge is journal writing. This challenges for you as well as loved ones. It is good to get a journal for yourself because it is always good to look back at the good and the bad in the past. Furthermore this challenge is importance to your loved one so that if anything were to happen to you, they would have memory of you. The next challenge is the removal of Prejudice and Bullying .I feels that if you when you bully or are prejudice to someone who should consider how you are making him or her feel. The final challenge is the importance of creating a climate of kindness. When you crate a kindness and someone else feels it, they will do the same for you. If everyone at least attempted to mean one of Rachael’s challenges then the world we live in would be a much kinder place.

My overall reaction to Rachel's Challenge was that it made me really think about things. I also feel really bad for her family and the families of the other twelve kids that died. Now I am trying to be nicer to people and not judge them. One of the three things that moved me was that Rachel was always nice and gave everyone a chance. Another thing is when Rachel saw a girl named Amber sitting by herself at lunch, she got her friends and moved to the table with Amber and then they became best friends. There was this boy who was constantly being made fun of because he had disabilities and Rachel stuck up for him. Rachel saved him, he was going to kill himself until Rachel came along. Mr.Scott put five challenges toward me and one of the five was the power of influence and I think it means that kids shouldn't let people who do really bad stuff influence them. The second challenge was the importance of goal setting and I think everyone should have atleast one goal that is very important to them. The power of journal writing will help kids who are shy get their feelings out instead of keeping them bottled up. Number four is the removal of prejudice and bullying and I think if people were nicer to other then there wouldn't be many fights and people would be happier with their lives. Last but not least, the importance of creating a climate of kindness and I think you should treat people the way you would want to be treated. The Rachel's Challenge presentation made a big impact on my life and changed the way I will treat people.

I thought Rachel's Challenge was an awesome idea. It's a way to describe how to make people around you happier. It also shows some of the things Rachel did and the outcome of those things.

One thing that I thought was really weird was how she always said she was going to die young. It's even weirder that what she said, happened. Another thing that was REALLY weird was her drawings. The drawing with the rose was crazy, it had 13 "blood drops" and 13 unfortunate families lost someone that day.

For all the challenges, I really believe that if you follow them, you can really change the people around you, and there's a good chance that the people you are kind to, will be kind to other people, therefore starting a "chain reaction", one thing that Rachel was very determined to do. She may not be with us anymore but she did in fact start a chain reaction.

The story of Rachel and the Columbine shootings were inspiring and tear jerking. Rachel was a girl who helped everyone, even if she didn't know them. She even knew she was going to die at a young age, yet she kept helping as much as she could. This person whom was kind hearted and hadn't tried to hurt anybody was killed. Just because two boys were bullied, just about the nicest person you will ever meet, died.
If you just follow the five challenges Rachel set for herself as well as others we could have prevented this as well as the Virginia Tech shooting. These two boys were deranged and brain washed by these mindless games and television. Setting goals is an important part of life. If you don't know what you want, how do you know what you're doing in life? A good way to vent your feelings is through writing. You could even write songs or poetry. I know I love to play songs on my guitar, even though I can't write songs. These challenge of prejudice is the one I like to focus on the most. How can you judge people before you even know them? If we all become prejudice again we'll be back in the dark ages or we'll have gang wars again, society as we know it would be divided all over again. Without all the hate and prejudice we would have a safe, comfortable evironment. In this environment we could achieve so much. It would be like a haven. In this place we wouldn't have to worry, we'd just have fun. At the same time we'd learn without the thought that you might get jumped aftetrschool, or having to avoid a certain group of people just so they won't bully you. If we just live by the challenges Rachel had come up with, the world might actually have some harmony for once. So that we wouldn't have to fight anymore. If we could just do that, people wouldn't die, children wouldn't get hurt, and we could just live happy lives.

After watching the Rachel Joy Scott presentation i have had many overall reactions. first, I was suprsied at someone who was so determined to chage peoples live. I also learned to be kind to the people around me. I was very touched by some of the things she has done to help out other people. Those were some of my overall reactions.
I found a couple of things in the presentation in her life motivating. One of those things i have found motivationg in her life was the fact she made friends with some new girl and was very kind to her. Rachel helped and protected a kid from a couple of bullies and also saved him from committing suicide. When Rachel said that her hands were gonna touch thousands of hearts around the world I found that moving because she did.
Mr.Scott put 5 challenges and they were the power of influence, goal settings, journal wrriting, removal of prejudice and bullying, and a climate of kindness. we should influence others to be kinder to one another. When we st goals for ourselves we will become more sucessful. When we write in our journal, people will know about u. If we prevent prejudice and bullying, then people will become safer and can do anything that they want. If we create a climate of kindess, then more people will feel that they belong and become more happier.

The presentation that Mr.Scott gave us, I thought was very sad. It was sad because she was the first person killed in that high school and she didn't do anything bad. She kept a diary and wrote everything in it and it become useful in the future. She became friends with new people that were new to the school. I was amazed when one guy said that when he looked at her, he could see tears in her eyes, and she drew a picture with someone crying. Mr. Scott told us about the 5 challenges. The power of influence, is to make your own decision. The importance of goal setting, is that you could write down your goals in the past, and accomplish them in the future. Writing in your journal could be important because it could be used in the future for some reason. The removal of prejudice and bullying will be good so that no one could get hurt physically and emotionally. The importance of creating a climate of kindness is important so that there would be no bullying.

My overall reaction to rachels challenge was I could not beilieve the someone so selfless even exsisted. What made her even more suprising was her courage to sit and talk with the new girl at school. Secondly her diary was filled with touching poems and her goals in life. It was very super natural when she predicted her own death which bring up many questions for me. Any ways I try to influence people as much as possible for example I try to be nicer to them than they are to me, I try to give them things that they need, and I try to be more mature around some people because i see that as a big problem today. Way to many teenagers are acting very foolish and childish. As much as I try it does not work for some reason. Some people only listen to what they want to hear. I know how important it is to set your goals but i dont know about writing them down i mean you should have so many goals that you wont remember them. I think keeping a journal is a good idea though, it helps let out a lot of stress if you are not having a good day. I love the idea of removing prejiduce and bullying because its like my pet peeve. Creating a climate of kindness is also very important to me. Im not trying to get cheesy but you are not cool if you can hurt other people in any way. In conclusion I am trying to help but if u want to make a big diffrence a few more people need to get involved.
